    By the time Westbrook's contract expires, he will still be younger than CP3.

    Contract longer or not, Westbrook get's to play with his, arguably, most compatible teammate. Someone who, he may or may not, listen to.

    I completely agree with your first point, which is why getting rid of CP3's contract is a good thing.
    I don't agree with your second point at all. There is no way that WB is 'his, arguably, most compatible teammate'.

    I'd have made this trade too, (given CP3's decline and albatross of a contract), but there are VERY real concerns about the fit of adding another hyper-ball dominant player that is concurrently a 3-point brick laying machine into this offense. This will be fascinating to watch...
