A lot of people hate Westbrook here for several reasons. Including winning MVP over Harden

But now that he is here, time to see how it plays out and support

What's up with the swop picks? It's OKC's choice?

At the end of the day, this is a huge upgrade and we lose two protected picks for it.

Westbrook presents issues with...team chemistry, to be sure, but he's not a bad teammate. No one ever complains about Russ being a toxic teammate or a cancer...just that he's way too eager to shoot the ball.

That's Russ main issue, his shooting is very inconsistent and wild and he doesn't realize when he's missed the last five pull 3s and that during this time the other team has come back because of it. If you know the phrase "Shoot your team out of the game" Russ encapsulates this phrase...

With that said, it's a pro too. Russ is pure energy on the court, he hardly ever slows down, and that energy is something the Rockets need at times, especially at times when Harden is slowly walking the ball up the court and dribbling for 20 seconds.

I think out of all the CP3 trades, this wasn't a bad one. The picks hurt but the Rockets never do anything with picks any ways so whatever. Russ is younger and he's still an all-star player and he's a guy that knows Harden and is cool with him so hopefully it works out in the lockerroom...sounds like there really was something between CP3 and Harden now that we learned that Harden pushed for this trade...

Maybe we can convince Westbrook to cut out the pull up three's and only do his "more efficient" catch and shoot, the way OKC fans were saying during his MVP campaign. Maybe it'll work! Maybe...oh my god. Who am I ****ing kidding.

This is horrible. Westbrook had his worst percentages last year and doesn't project to age well with how much his game is predicated on athleticism. Harden and Westbrook are just going to take turns playing iso ball each time down the court. They are going to iso us to 48 wins next year. This is the modern equivalent of Denver pairing Carmelo with Iverson.

There should be a “no idea” selection. I’ll vote yes just because I think it extends our window of being competitive.

Hate Brodie and think his game is like driving on a 10k mile worn tire.

But CP3 and his contract is washed, and we extend the window another two years.

Is Harden happy with the trade? That's all that matters.

We have doubled down on ISO ball. CP3 was a better 3 point shooter.

The polarization reminds me of the Barkley for Horry and Cassell trade.

These are my thoughts. But I don’t think Tillman or Morey are the type to do a Sixers style tank job so maybe that risk is mitigated.

More yes than no i'd say. Westbrook is a worse fit but a better player at this point, bigger contract but he's 4 years younger. He can probably get along with Harden better than Chris so, overall yeah, i think it's fine, not great but not bad either.

The only thing that scares me about this trade are the 2024/26 picks being only top 4 protected. And this btw is a signal the franchise is sending to the people who always say the Rockets are wasting Harden's prime, they just took a big risk for the future of the franchise to get Harden's buddy here.

I didn't want WB because of the crazy payroll we wold keep (i never imagined Thunder would take back CP3).
With CP3 off the books, I can take this.

Still hard to imagine these 2 ball hogs working together. In their OKC days, Harden was jus a 6th man. In exihibition games, they played so well, but that's because they weren't playing seriously. Especially WB and his stat padding. He doesn't care about that in a fake game.

We need to go all in while Harden is here so I really dont care about the picks. Cp3 is donezo when hes out on the court, and a solid chunk of the time hes not even out there in the first place. Russell is a flawed player but im willing to let it ride and lets see how it all shakes out
