CP3 and two firsts for Dragic and Olynk. Gives us an expiring contract than still has value and a PF and most of all flexibility for the future.
You guys are silly. Is CP3 overpaid? Yes. Is he a superstar anymore? No. Is he a good player still? Yes. Would salary dumping him make us better? No.
But why would we want to get rid of his contract if it doesn't make us better? It won't create cap space. It also limits our flexibility in that we no longer have those two picks to trade for a star that becomes available. So if it's not a cap space creating move and it doesn't make us better and reduces our chances of obtaining a star player why would they consider this? I'm scratching my head.
Dragic is not as good as Paul, but he can still play backup. He is a huge trade chip for a team trying to free up cap space next year or dump salary at the deadline. Olnyx gives us a 7 footer who can shoot from outside and provide a big body off the bench. I can't believe you guys don't understand how far CP3 dropped off physically this year and it will be even more next year. I think it argulabally makes our front court better and only slightly degrades the back court and gets us out of CP3 contract which is the single biggest impediment to be players in FA in the next couple of years.
Miami reportedly is interested in CP3. Nobody else is. If you could get it done with less more power to you. We gave up picks to get rid of Ryan Anderson and Brandon knight. We still were able to improve our team. Now everyone is up in arms about giving up picks two years apart to unsaddle us from cp3 for the next 3 years wasting James' prime. If there is lol on this it is for you guys that are still holding out hope for a two headed pg monster of harden and a crippled CP3.
People are ****ing dumb. That’s why. The Rockets had the #1 offense and #4 defense for 57 games. Paul plays solid but doesn’t dominate against two elite defenses and the top 2 teams in the West and all of a sudden his contract is a negative? Put more motion in the offense like in his Clipper days and he'll play better offensively. But they have a clown for a coach and a selfish ass for a leader.
I've had my share of bad ideas, but I'm not a dumbass. Next year's version of CP3 in all probability will be less than this year's. He is still good, but his contract is an albatross. Everyone of consequence in the west has gotten better this off season. Our main issue last year was poor defensive rebounding. We need somehow to have the flexibility to solve our front court problems. We can't do that without trading Gordan or Paul. I would rather have two expiring contracts in dragic and Gordan than a constantly degrading Paul for three more years.
Olynyk is just another Ryan Anderson bro, we would basically swap CP3 with Dragic and a bench player on a meh contract, this make us worse.
