35 year old Lebron. Injury prone AD and Boogie. And only Danny Green can actually shoot the basketball. I'm not scared at all.
Could do a lot worse than cousins at the minimum. Dude will kill capela down low if he has anything left. Plus who’s stopping AD with both guys on the floor? We have no one except tucker and even he’s way too short
They also got dudley, daniels, and probably korver when he gets bought out. I would rather have Boogie on a min contract than Capella at 17 mil.
The Rockets had no answer for the AD and Cousins frontline in New Orleans. They were killing the Rockets until Cousins went down with his injury.
He signed a one year deal, players usually do that because they want to play for a longer and better contract, just like he did with GSW, that was his stated intention. They are called prove it deals so even if you are correct, that he just wants to win a ring with the Lakers...he still went to GSW to play the role of a role player and looked how much that helped out his value around the league.
That’s why I’m glad you are not our GM. Besides putting up huge numbers on bad teams that never equated to wins. Why would you think Boogie is any good at all? The game has passed him by. Slow center who can’t defend is pretty much useless in this new NBA. Not to mention for a guy his size he is pretty inefficient when it comes to scoring since he settles for long twos which we know is the worst shot in the game. What is one thing he is even elite at? At least with Capela I know he’s an elite shot blocker and he runs the floor harder than anyone in the league which sets up easy buckets for our team.
Or maybe that's about all that was available at the time. Last year, it may have been a prove-it deal. And he hurt himself again, and maybe now he's changed his thinking. Maybe he loved getting so close to a ring. Or remembered what it was like living in California. Or just wants to coast through an easy season with lots of front court depth. Who really knows. But assuming players are stupid is fairly stupid. These guys do what makes them happy - it doesn't have to make sense to you or me or anyone else. From last year: https://www.sbnation.com/2018/7/3/1...ins-warriors-zero-offers-free-agency-pelicans “I talked to a very emotional DeMarcus Cousins. Keep in mind, he had that Achilles injury right after the all-star break and in the back of his mind, he wondered if it really was going to affect him majorly in free agency, and it did,” Spears said on SportsCenter late Monday night. “He told me he got zero offers. Zero offers. This is a four-time all-star, one of the best players in the world. Zero offers. So he was certainly hurt. He said about 5 a.m. in Vegas, he got on his balcony, thought about everything, called his agent, woke him up, and started talking about different scenarios, and one of the scenarios was going to the Warriors. “So early in the morning, he called Bob Myers. Bob, he said, was certainly shocked that DeMarcus called him and was interested in taking the mid-level exception.
Poster said "it seems like a dumb move." That's not unreasonable considering the short horizon Boogie has on his career. Maybe he's saved every penny and has a great retirement set up. Maybe he isn't materialistic and doesn't care about money. Or maybe he just made a dumb move.
And against every team other than the Warriors he’s worth it. Why do y’all Hate Capela soo much cuz of 1 series where he might have been sick. He has dominated both Gobert and KAT in playoffs as well. He’s only 23 years old. Stop overreacting. If we lost Capela we would be a lottery team for sure, he’s that important to our success cuz of his chemistry with Harden and the fact that we have no one else over 6’6” on the roster.
No, poster asked if Cousins was dumb, and then explained why he thought he was, and said that Miami made more sense for him. The part you quote was referring to the Lakers ("As for the Lakers, this also seems like a dumb move,").
Yeah, but we know he was lying about that, even in the article we know the Pels did offer him a contract and other teams did as well. He would have made more on other teams like the Pels and Blazers and would have seen the ball more because in GSW he was an afterthought.
Ok, still works out the same. Is he dumb (i.e. he has a short career arc)? It's the same as saying "is he making a bad decision?"
All of these moves is uber bad for us. Clippers add two superstars. Lakers grab Cousins, potentially Green and Igoudala come in. OKC adds alot of depth, if they add Westbrook. If Cousins has anything left in tank, the West is a nightmare, again.
Don't get me wrong, the West got stronger, but at least there's no filthy super team at the top...yet Pelicans + Home wreckin Bron what?
