OKC got 5 late 1sts for PG, you're saying Morey wouldn't be willing to part way with 5 1sts for PG if given the chance?

    That's 5 too many.

Don't you think if Morey could get something for his contact, he would have? We've been talking about how he's been unable to get anything worthwhile for the past month or 2.

You are confusing not having draft picks with not being able to trade picks.

The CBA prevents teams from having no picks in two consecutive future seasons. The Lakers and Clips still have first round picks but they are not allowed to trade them.

Example: a team trades their 2021 first round pick. Since you cant have consecutive future drafts with no first round picks, that team is prohibited from trading their 2020 or 2022 pick. The team still has those picks they just cant include them in a trade.

or maybe they just don't want to be in Houston regardless of Harden. why are people acting like top free agents would want to pick Houston over LA regardless of who is playing there?

New cba allow to trade all firsts to 2016 every other year, the rest is swap, which means the better picks are gone also.

I don't know for certain that he would. Especially since the Rockets are already a top contender. That window may be short-lived, but I don't know If that is necessarily a smart trade. At least not for the Rockets.

Injuries are always a risk, but to say those will all be late first round picks is making quite an assumption. An injury to one of the key guys could change things. The other thing to consider is that they stand a good chance of still doling out draft picks years after the player they traded for is gone. If things don't go exactly right, that could be a tough pill to swallow.

These trades look pretty good for the teams making them before any games are played. We will see if it works out, but I don't think you can say that the reason that the Rockets didn't make those deals is because people hate playing with Harden. PG just had the best season of his career and decided that he wanted away from Westbrook. The Clipper's were in a position to trade for him because they also had the cap space to sign Kawhi. Totally different than the position the Rockets are in.

No, if you swap picks you still have a first round pick.

Think about, how likely is it that the Clippers pick will be better than OKCs pick? The Clippers still have first round picks. OKC isnt likely to swap but of they did it would only improve the Clippers pick.

    Dumbly worded question.

If something "improves", you always do it...

Yes. We gotta go all in. Might be a long time before we have another player like Harden in his prime here again.

Is not really that is that they want to play in LA. George and Kawhi are from south Cali so they want to be near their family and home. Lebron went there for business and for the life style I guess. AD just wanted to get out of NO into a bigger market and LA had the trade chips to get him. We didn’t.

For two top 10 players? Duh.

I wouldn’t make that trade for any individual player, though, except for Giannis. That’s about it.

A lot of people don’t get how little worth our future firsts are

Lakers included a pick that was 4th overall. And the future picks come when Lebron is old as F

And neither Clippers or Lakers included a contract like Chris Paul’s.

We gotta give it up with the whole star chasing. Maybe EG + Clint + future firsts can get us something but
    A) our team would be gutted, Clips kept Lou Bev Trezz
    B) a team trading a star would take more valuable future picks over an EG.
