    LMAO, 2 Firsts?

I am fine with 2 Seconds. Giving up a first? I am 50/50 on that. It would depend on what other moves might come that we don't know about.

Hence Tim MacMahon's report of the Mavs interest. Nothing gets us Rockets fans worked up like Cuban/Mavs trying to F up the Rockets plans.

I’d give a first. Not two.

Because they think Iguodala is preferable, and they can't get Iguodala if they use the NT-MLE or BAE. You don't have to agree with that, of course, but it's certainly not about saving money.

1.) How many teams around the league have paid the repeater tax?

2.) They tried to go deep into the tax last year, but the deals didn't materialize. They offered four freaking 1sts for Jimmy Butler! When the only thing standing between them and avoiding the tax was James freaking Ennis and a draft pick in the 20s, it wasn't a huge sacrifice to avoid having to worry about the repeater tax.

Those 2 solify your team come playoff time. Mcgee takes alot of presure off Capela being the only big for rebounding. I hope the rockets Resign Faried with whatever money they have.

    Ok.

But everything he says does not come true and the article was speculation on what could happen.

But hey if speculation freaks you out, more power to you and feigen has definitely written speculations that did not happen.

No question the defense gets better and if he’s relatively healthy we’ll be better than minimally better but these circumstance will maybe only apply for one season.

I think we have to consider life after Paul/Tucker/Gordon.

OKC is trying to win. They are paying the repeater tax. GS would’ve paid it next year if they kept Durant. They paid lux tax 3 of the last 4 years. The Raptors are paying lux tax this year.

Teams that wanna win pay tax. It makes sense to pay tax with this roster, before CP3 declines. Stop making excuses for the owner not going all in when it comes to using available options (salary slots) to improve the team.

And we offered 4 first round picks to get Butler and shed the salary of Knight, Criss and those 4 capholds for the draft picks.

They ask for 2 because they really hope to land 1. I don't know that I'd give them 1 assuming this is a 1 year rental. Maybe a swap of their 2nd and our 1st but that's as high as I'd go.

Very interesting! I'm surprised Houston is chasing Iggy like that like you said his age is up there and hasn't he been hurt?

Definitely shocked McGee is even considering Houston. Especially for that low of a tag.

    Thanks for the info!

Mghee makes us much better by default....he is a legit 7 footer. Would you rather him or Shumpert be covering opposing centers? If the Rockets give up a first rounder for soon to be 37 year old Iguodala they are the dumbest team in the league!!!!!

1.) Cap holds for picks in the 20s are quite small.

2.) OKC is the one example (exception to rule), and there have been plenty of rumors that they're trying to slash costs for next year. But yes, to this point, OKC's ownership has shown a greater financial commitment. That's fair.

3.) It's pretty absurd that in a thread where I've referenced the Rockets attempting to trade for Butler last year (adding significant money) and attempting to trade for Iguodala right now (adding significant money), that you're arguing against them by pointing out something that GS allegedly attempted to do.

Are we counting attempts, or not? Because if you're going to count GSW's bid to retain Durant, you can't turn around and discount all the evidence we have of things the Rockets have tried to do over the past 12 months.

No you dont. Hes a good regular season depth player but you dont want to rely on him to hit down any shots. He was pretty terrible in our playoff series. 1 good game

Shumpert SnT ($13 MM) + our NGs ($7 M) + firsts for Iggy and Crowder

How many firsts would you be willing to give up to get both?

After the failed Butler attempt the team still had a MLE to spend, on a team that clearly needed help and was in contender position (with a declining CP3), and punted to avoid paying tax. True or false?
