Why should I care about that article that was written by somebody who is obviously biased against Harris and the "corporate democrats". That was nothing more than trying to connect the dots that since she is associated with Soros she is obviously bad. I don't even like Harris but this corporate Democrat narrative is stupid. What is exactly wrong with democrats being corporate.
I voted for Hillary. What good does it do to pretend that all Democrats are near faultless? It gets you folks like HIllary who lose. It gets you losing 1000 state legislative seats, both houses of Congress often. It gets the majority of the lower middle class workers voting Republican and not seeing any difference between the parties. So the Clintons and Obama cozing up to Wall Street and emphasizing race and gender and not good old FDR economics had nothing to do with losing Congress and the S. Ct.? hugh!!
WRT to being corporate and just giving lip service to labor and labor unions, see my reply to Deckard. It has not worked out well for the Democrats in the last 40 years. Just trying to inform you of Soros and the Hillary/ Obama big bundlers and their meetings to push Harris about two years ago. Harris may be able to get away with her shape shifting and what some see as being a phoney.. She is better than Trump and I will vote for her. I doubt she is the strongest candidate, despite her debate skills.
I believe you when you say that you voted for Hillary. You aren't stupid! I've never thought that. What you aren't understanding is that by posting negative things about her, and no doubt talking about her that way whenever you had the chance for weeks before the election, you represented what was happening all over the country in social media. It definitely had an influence. Yes, some was being put out by the Russians. That's been proven, and I'm not implying that you personally had that kind of influence. I'm assuming you didn't make negative speeches about her in front of large audiences. ;-) What I'm saying is that you did that here both before and after she got the nomination. Again, you represent what was happening on a vastly larger scale on far more influential social media outlets than we have here at ClutchFans, although we do have well over 40,000 members. I'll add that we have untold numbers of "guests" who check out the BBS quite often, and many on a regular basis. Some of them likely take a peek at D&D to see what's up. Hillary Clinton in 2008 strongly endorsed President Obama 4 days after he clinched the nomination, and it was after a hard fought campaign by both of them. Your hero, Senator Sanders, unlike Ms Clinton, waited a month, and then gave her a tepid endorsement. He had also spent weeks and weeks whining about how he lost the nomination to her. As if he didn't know the system beforehand, and as if he had had a serious chance of winning regardless. He didn't, in my humble opinion, which you likely disagree with, but that's another subject. He also wasn't a Democrat and still isn't a Democrat, and that makes a difference to a lot of Democrats, believe it or not. Food for thought, @glynch. I wish you'd chew on it some. Of paramount importance is winning the election. That was true in 2016, and it is doubly true today, now that we know just what kind of creature Mr trump is.
I see where Harris now claims she supports forced busing to speed up integration. That will go over real well with the electorate....
Bending over for corporations is a Republican aspiration, not a Democratic one. That's why Clinton and Obama were the best Republican Presidents since Eisenhower.
Who knows what she supports. I'd really prefer not to have to vote for this lady. Harris says busing should be considered, not mandated https://apnews.com/586b1e81cb684654b0cf689b9074c1cb WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Sen. Kamala Harris said Wednesday that busing students should be considered by school districts trying to desegregate their locations — not the federal mandate she appeared to support in pointedly criticizing rival Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden last week. Harris had a breakthrough moment at the candidates’ first debate when she criticized Biden for his opposition to mandatory school busing when he was a senator in the 1970s. Harris said she benefited from busing as an elementary school student in Berkeley, California, in the early 1970s. “That’s where the federal government must step in,” Harris said, looking at Biden and winning a burst of applause from the auditorium in Miami. On Wednesday, though, Harris characterized busing as a choice local school districts have, not the responsibility of the federal government. Busing, while not central to the Democratic primary, has become a proxy issue for the debate between Biden and Harris over race as well as broader questions about whether the 76-year-old former vice president is out of step with his party. After a Democratic Party picnic Wednesday in West Des Moines, Harris was asked by reporters whether she supports federally mandated busing. “I think of busing as being in the toolbox of what is available and what can be used for the goal of desegregating America’s schools,” she responded. Asked to clarify whether she supports federally mandated busing, she replied, “I believe that any tool that is in the toolbox should be considered by a school district.” In a tweet Wednesday, Biden deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield knocked Harris for her response, writing, “It’s disappointing that Senator Harris chose to distort Vice President Biden’s position on busing — particularly now that she is tying herself in knots trying not to answer the very question she posed to him!”
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to her at the next debate. She’ll have a few of the other candidates gunning for her now. Let’s see if she can withstand the heat. Problem is, good possibility she and Biden won’t be on the same stage...which may favor her as he won’t get the chance to face her while it’s fresh in everyone’s mind. This is the problem with so many candidates right now: we aren’t getting the showdowns that we want to see (Warren-Sanders being another).
Just to be clear: forced busing was/is only for public school chumps, not the private school kids, such as Obama's and Trump's kids? Will Harris be busing her kids out of Brentwood? Forced busing does sound fun for your children. . . .
Harris does not have any interest in school busing. This is just a way for her to inflame racial tensions and to try to motivate people towards tribalism, and towards being confronted with the expectations of the Democrat left's intolerant and imposing "Political correctness" and "Identity politics" agenda.
Of course its just for public schools. Forced busing was and is a complex issue, and there are smart people on all sides of it. At the time, it was considered one of the few ways to get black kids into good schools because schools were intentionally segregated at the local level. There are a lot of different schools of thought on whether it was a good solution, the right solution, how well it worked, etc. And there were good non-racists on both sides of the issue. Biden was likely one of them.
So now you are the arbitrator of what Democrats are. Please. You don't get to define what a Democrat is. We could only hope to have presidents as good as those 2 running now.
what do I need to figure out? Why you can define what a Democrat is? Are you really saying those 2 presidents tried or did none of that?
