A24 has premiered the first trailer for “Hereditary” director Ari Aster’s new horror film “Midsommar” opening in cinemas August 9th. Jack Reynor and Florence Pugh star in the film as a couple who travels to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown, famed for its mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic vacation soon turns into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult. Will Poulter, William Jackson Harper, Ellora Torchia and Archie Madekwe also star. http://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-hereditary-directors-midsommar/ Getting some serious Wicker Man vibes from this......
It’s one of the craziest movies you will ever see. My wife did look at me like a mad man after it was over wondering what I had just persuaded her to watch.
It's like some wise reviewers said about Hereditary: it's so much more disturbing than your normal horror because it makes you look around you at coworkers, fellow citizens, and even friends and family with chills. This dude is somehow hitting that part of reality where our species can be really really nutty and just as horrible. I kind of love it, though I'm scared to see this one.
Eh, maybe, but *shrug*. Some writers and directors have a little more going on in the attic than others. Read lane's review of hereditary and tell him to slow down.
Anyway, slight gap in reviewers versus moviegoers in the early feedback. Audience reviews a good bit lower than the reviewers. Seems like a long run time is trying people's patience a bit. Interesting.
Did not know Hereditary before, watched it. I haven't found out so much about the Spoiler Demon King Paimon.
It was a trip. Back in the day, it would have been a good one to watch on the psilocybin. My final thoughts at the end were..."what a b*tch!"...to you-know-who for you-know-what.
I haven't seen it but I don't like being scared with crazy bit*ches. I went through a phase where I dated arsonists. It was tough. Also ouija boards ghosts mystical stuff gives me the heeby jeebees. Maybe will watch
In my old age, I’m not a huge fan of horror movies, but this one was awesome. Pretty sure I’ll be waiting in line to see anything Ari Aster or Robert Eggers makes in the future. Those dudes are true auteurs.
