No one team did pay 15mm for Ariza. Phoenix was going to then realized they had made a dreadful mistake (this is a team that put live goats in its front office until they started ******** on the floor), leading the Wizards to say "I want some of that mistake", and eventually paving the way for Austin Rivers to end up here.

And if the question is ariza at 27 million for 2 years vs. Rivers at the veteran minimum - I hope there's a real funny punchline involving goat ****.

Did Tilman Fertitta's Rockets hand out those contracts to Harden and CP3 or did Tilman Fertitta inherit those contracts with his purchase of the Rockets?

Anyway, I have backed off the ledge I was on before. I'm not too worried about where we're at. We can compete for home court in round 1 and that isn't too bad of a position to be in.

Maybe we'll have a trade at some point and/or a midseason pick up that helps.

However my cautious optimism assumes that our hypothetical chemistry from having relatively little roster turnover translates to early-season success. If we struggle out of the gate, I will walk back to the cliff's edge.

This and I’m sure both sides would agree the latter of the season is the goal, so a nene type maintenance program wouldn’t be out of the question either

No, it’s not. CP3 is an aging PG. You should do all you can to win before he declines. You should be willing to pay tax, repeater tax, whatever tax, any year you have a contending team. If you aren’t using every financial avenue to win when you actually have a chance to win then you are being cheap.

The owner prioritized not paying a tax over winning. That’s cheap. Look all across the league. Teams actually trying to win spend the $$.

Iggy said playing for GSW and championships is a lot of pressure and takes the joy out of the game. Hey....he'd have pressure and NO ring in Houston.

    So....

Well, we’ll see this fall if this year creates enough of a sample size for you. Or even this summer when you see them not use the larger exception or the BAE. They also didn’t use the full MLE last year after saying they were saving it.

Oh, and Tillman explicitly bragged about having a contender without paying tax one sentence after saying he’d go into the tax if he was certain that was the way to have a contender and that it is very easy to go from making money to losing money.

I certainly don’t think he was lying - he’s just raised the bar on paying the tax to the point that they won’t pay it.

Maybe I’m wrong and they’ll pay it this year. But until they actually do, the “process” is unproven talk and the results are the results.

Oh looks it’s the same people b****ing about Gs signing wcs and how the rockets completely missed out. Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t. One thing I’m always relieved about is that people like this are no where near the front office and they can only cry on cf’s constantly

It’s about putting all your eggs in a trade and a probable r****d in McGee. I’ll take the latter as last resort and would take Iggy in a heartbeat, but my point is that we are seemingly not interested in others and probably not going into the season at full strength. It’s an overreaction, but that’s just the emotional fan in me.

They will confirm their idiocy for wanting to trade another first or even Gordon for an aging Iggy. A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. Javale is more than an adequate replacement for Nene, and he probably will be gone soon, and Morey will say we still have time. His limited vision has no end.

Those 2 players don’t make us better. The Rockets needed another difference maker and came up empty. I understand they still have to improve the team but next season is already over.

    Time to rebuild.

    Sincere question for the board:

How many NBA teams are currently (or have recently) operating/operated with a Hard Cap?

What are you exactly complaining about. You b**** about Shump and then when you have the chance to get iggy for him it’s now no that’s stupid. If McGee signed with Gs, all of you would be like wowwwwwwww. Rockets do something. They need him.

Yeah this emotion as you say is called being dramatic

No, it’s not the trade or getting Iggy, that is good. It’s the seemingly chasing of just him and McGee, the waiting on a trade could drag on for too long and leaving us with nothing.

LOL he ripped us for 17 in a must-win game that we lost by 5 points. So he's nearer the end than the beginning but he can, LOL, still help us.
