After you reported Lakers believe they're "firmly" in the lead? Teams "firmly" in the lead gonna be 0/2 this week.
People wanna mention Lakers and bulls and etc how they were super teams but they were also built for the most part and had to earn their place in the league as elite. Look how long it took Jordan's bulls took to get there. Differences between now super teams are the fact the players have control. They are teaming up. The Lakers with lebron and AD and Kawhi would been bought and put together to make a super team. They go from bottom to the top instantly. No earning it. No going through the draft. Just like the lebron heat team. The warriors was doing it right until they went and signed KD they had built the team and was fighting and growing as a team. They went through a hard fight come back against the thunder and the better player in KD. But since they lost in finals they add KD and just jump ahead into beyond stupid good team.
yup. It's not like the Clippers needed to hear it from Kawhi's own mouth to know that they had to get a star to appeal to him. They could have gone after Harris, or at least DLO.
Do you think something like Gallo expiring (and maybe a pick?) for Love could actually happen and make Kawhi pick the Clippers? Cause i just don't see it...
Woj: (Timeline?) Sometime between this evening & July 4 has been a timeline described to me over the last couple of days. (Why Raptors last?) It's typical of the incumbent. Respect for the organization you were with. He has great respect for Masai & that organization. He wanted to give them that opportunity. I don't know that there's a lot the Raptors have to say. They made their case this year. (What will play into that final decision?) Teams who have pursued him believe comfort is important. It exists with Toronto/Masai/Nick Nurse. There's a young core there. If you're the Clippers, you hope it was Doc Rivers. Lakers, they have two players in LeBron & Anthony Davis who he is familiar with. (Is trust the deciding factor?) I won't speculate what the deciding factor would be but if it's about relationships, the relationship/bond with Toronto will beat everyone else. That's probably a factor. (Masai staying) It's immense. There's a trust he'll continue to build around him that will allow them to be competitive.
If the most important thing for him is the relationship side, i don't see how he wants anything to do with the Lebron/Paul brigade tbh. The Clippers look like a much suited enviroment for him with Doc, Ballmer, West, what's around the franchise too...which is why i always thought he would've like to play for the Clippers over the Lakers.
