Riley just gutted his team to get Jimmy, I doubt the wizards would give up their franchise player for Kelly Olynyk and Justice Winslow
I would. He's a free agent in the last year of CP3s deal. Houston could offer him the max, then either dump CP3 with picks for cap room or use his salary for matching purposes (unlikely, but still possible).
because he's the only positive thing they have. they're going to suck. might as well load up on future draft picks.
Because their team is trash and he's too old to build around. That said I'd wait a bit till there's an established market for him and then extract a kings ransom in picks.
Would you agree to swap Paul with Wall and trade Capela and Gordon with picks for Beal in order to have this statting 5: Hartenstein PJ House Beal Harden ? Because that's what it would likely take to get him here.
Dude - quit whining and crying about other teams all the time and how the league is out to get the big badd Rockets The rules are the same for all teams. Geez
How does that help Washington get cap relief and start over? You're just replacing Wall's salary with CP3s. I just looked at Washington's roster and it's really bad. They only have Beal for 2 more years and then he likely walks. If they just wanted to throw in the towel, blow it up and start over sooner , then a deal with Miami wouldn't be that bad. They could send Beal and Wall to Miami and get Dragic, the ghost of Ryan Anderson, Miles Leonard and Olynyk in return. After next year, $51.4M would come off the books (Dragic, Anderson and Leonard). The following season, another $44M expires (Olynyk, Mahimi, Simmons). They could really tank it and try for high draft picks to go with a bunch of cap space over the next two summers. That might be better than delaying the inevitable rebuild. Still can't believe that someone thought that it was a good idea to pay Ian Mahinmi over $15M/season.
The wizards are 2-3 high lotteries away from even having a chance at a decent team. He's 30 if this even happens and if he re-signs.
Look, it probably doesn't work for Beal in Washington long term, but they can just wait for a kings ransom. They will get it for him. Look what Philly got for Tobias on his then contract.
CP3 contract is one year shorter, i mean, that's nothing special but still lets them clear almost 50M one year early. I think if the Rockets might be forced to include that swap in a trade if they want to compete with Boston or the Pelicans to name a couple of teams, but it's not like i think that would necessarily give us a chance...Capela is nice, multiple 1st rounders could be nice depending on the protections, Gordon might still be swapped for a decent 1st...but yeah, i don't think we have enough to get it done. And i agree, they should just blow it up, in fact they should've done that last season instead of losing positions in the draft, giving away Oubre for Ariza which was one of the dumbest trades i've ever seen...even on the Porter trade i'm not sure tbh, suddenly that contract doesn't look as bad as it looked last season now that guys like Barnes and Harris are making 20/30M per season for the next 4/5 years. Regardless, they're going nowhere anyway, also cause when Wall will be back, i expect Beal to have already asked for a trade.
2019-2020 money owed Chris Paul $38.5 Million James Harden $37.8 Million Bradley Beal $27 Million Even if we could why would we trade our starting center and another starter/key contributor with similar size/skill set at half the price? I like Beal but we are not going to tie up $104 Million to 3 backcourt players that need the ball and are 6’5 & under to “screw Riley”. We’d be screwing ourselves harder.
