Not directly. It helps them avoid the apron some and it has cut one huge contract into two smaller ones. So it is progress for sure.

Whiteside was barely controlled with Heat's strong culture. Portland has a good culture too, but they aren't used to babysit players with zero functioning braincells. So there's a good chance Lillard at some point will have enough with Whiteside being a lazy bum. At least he's expiring so if Nurkic comes back this year they can send him home.
