Reddick was the first i can remember actually saying something about how players are viewed here. Players decide where they go but coming to Houston is a risk. Of course this could happen on another team but there is a hair trigger with this organization. Imagine choosing Houston only to be traded a year or two in to a team u dont want. Say what you will but Houston has an easier time doing that then others and its catching up to them. Gordon and Capela choose us, constantly being talked about traded. Once u become an asset her your a trade chip for the next thing. This isnt a secret and we have all known about this for a while

It’s clearly not hurting GS or Boston.

LeBron treats his teammates like pawns and meets with his teams FO to discuss trading them behind their backs

The Warriors mistreated players injuries and look how dirty they just did Iggy

Weird, we somehow convinced Carmelo Anthony, Michael Carter-Williams, Austin Rivers and Kenneth Faried to sign with us recently...

Great point, Steve Kyler. Thank you for your long and trusted history of real, true, insider information.

Because no other team in the NBA is ever cold and calculating and trades guys when they think the team will get better. The Rockets are the only ones that do that.
Especially not the Raptors- when they traded DeMar Derozan, who absolutely loved Toronto and still talks about it, that was warm and heartfelt.

    That’s such utter bullshit.

The lakers just jettisoned every single player for AD Lebron and cap

Celtics did IT dirtier than anyone could imagine

The heat refused to give wade a contract for Whiteside

Raptors traded their bromance and face of the franchise

Charlotte said screw you to Kemba.

Everyone and every player in the NBA Ian in a business. Maybe role players are taught to not sign with us since role players are only good on decent contracts. THE moment the auction exceeds production they are terrible contracts and laughed at. LOOk at Miami a and charlotte. If role players are scared of coming here it’s cause Morey knows not to screw up his cap with nobodies.

morey burns bridges with people. Look how hard he played the House situation. It indicts the team as a place where your are one analytical stat from being ran out the league. just keep it professional and you will have no problem. No reason to turn into a cutthroat

This is coming from a crappy source, but the point is valid. Players value stability and long-term security, just like anyone in a 9-5 job. When most players sign a free-agent contract, they plan on honoring it to the end. Veteran players, in particular, don’t want to uproot their families all the time.

Daryl Morey, however, has no reservations about trading anyone at any time. If you were a free agent and had multiple options on the table, Morey’s willingness to trade you at any time would be a factor in your decision.

No, but they can steer their clients away from places if they desire

Reputations do have some impact. I remember JJ Redick mentioned the presence of Gordon and the likelihood of Houston later trading him as a reason why he didn't want to sign there when Paul joined.

PJ Tucker had options, Chris Paul had options. Dwight Howard had options. In fact, I am pretty sure that Melo, MCW, Rivers and Faried had multiple options, too-- just not at a high $ value.

Look, there likely are agents badmouthing Morey to the likes of Kyler, but this sounds like just normal NBA gossip. Danny Ainge has an even worse (and justified) reputation for being cold and calculating-- ask Isaiah Thomas. Yet, Kemba Walker just signed in Boston. If an agent doesn't let his clients sign with assholes, his clients will run out of places to go pretty quickly.
