Seems like every offseason the Rockets go after this one big fish (Melo, Bosh, Butler) and end up waiting on deals to happen but end up striking out while waiting on the big fish. Is this a cause of concern for the Rockets and the FO? It isn't a Tilman thing either because this has happened a few times under Les as well.
1. Promise one big name free agent, or even two 2. Chase their asses, talk a big public game and display smugness and overconfidence 3. Strike out on big name free agents 4. Sign a bunch of role players to fill out the roster 5. Claim we are much better than last season because of the said additions and the depth added Rockets Modus Operandi
Who could we have signed that has agreed to deals so far? That's just a serious question. I haven't seen all the deals yet.
Happens mostly every summer. Clutchfans always giving Morey the benefit of the doubt, talking about how Morey plays chess and everyone else plays checkers. Yet you got people like Pat Riley and Jerry West that don't give two ***** about chess, but just get the deals done while our GM is handing out iPads. Either way, I am not mad. This is our typical summer. I'm always hoping for us to actually build a team but instead we wait while. It's always funny reading Clutchfans and people thinking that free agents are going to leave large amounts of money on the table lol.
I told myself not to get excited. They will talk about one big free agent and it will look like a real possibility and then as soon as free agency starts it will come out that it was never really a possibility. I tried to avoid it but this one made all the sense in the world. I fell for the trap yet again.
