That was only in 2017-18 where they were a legit threat. The other times, they were either too mediocre to contend or had some embarrassing chokejobs in the Playoffs. You guys even complained that Harden had to carry a lot of those teams. Morey hasn't done **** besides get decent role players on cheap deals and grab Harden before he was even a superstar.
Nah, the problem is that everyone knows Morey desperately tries to go after stars every offseason and humiliates himself by striking out yet again. No one cares that he got washed-up Chris Paul. What has he done lately? The other GMs keep improving their teams when the previous offseason fails. Just look at the GMs for the best teams right now. Morey just desperately chases after one star, fails at landing him yet again, and then is forced to get a bunch of decent role players on cheap deals.
Ray Allen, KG, Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, likely Kemba, Gordon Hayward. Seems like a much better record.
Did everyone expect there to be no other suitors trying to get Jimmy Butler? Honesty, I’ve been surprised that only the Rockets have been linked to Butler before today. I mean, I don’t like it either when you hear other teams being talked up in their pursuit of Butler, but really it’s to be expected.
It doesn't make any sense for him to decline a full max from Philly, if thats on the table he should absolutely take it. If hes unhappy a month into it, then he can do what he does best and that is begin his campaign to get himself traded. He has proven his ability to do this very publicly. Saying no to an extra $50M for a year of bball at 34 is wild.
Exactly. It’s the same old crap year after year. Morey needs to start looking down the road at building the roster for post-Harden era if he can’t get it done this year.
Do you think Butler will enter every team meeting shouting "YOU F***ING NEED ME!"? Because I hope he does.
