The fact that Butler isn’t interested in opting in should tell people the level of interest Butler has specifically for the Rockets.

WTF? Heat? What can Heat give him that we can’t? They aren’t even contenders. SMH. If this is true, Butler ain’t about winning after all. He may want to be DA MAN. If that’s the case, it won’t go well even if he joins Rockets...

Montrezl is not a forward because he can not shoot, and using him there would negate his greatest strengths. He has not, and will likely never be effective as a forward in today’s NBA, which is why highly intelligent NBA coaches have played him full-time at backup Center, where his strengths of finishing around the rim are far more pronounced, along with his ability to utilize quickness against slower bigs.

Also, he is fantastic in the pick and roll. Nowadays, it is essentially unheard of to see non-stretch PF’s in pick and rolls, because the lane is clogged by a C. Hence the 1-5 pick and roll, the most popular play in the NBA. This is one of Trez’s greatest strengths, and just another example of your extremely tiny basketball brain.

Again, In today’s NBA Montrezl Harrell is a Center, which is why he has only played C for 4 years now, without getting even a sniff of a starting PF spot. /Education

Thank you for the clarification. I didn’t realize the NBA reduced the salary matching rules in the 2017 CBA from 125% to 120%.

    No. It’s 125% + $100k.

I just went and re-read the CBA FAQ…. apparently you had the correct percentage.

Taxpaying teams can take back up to 125% of their outgoing salaries, plus $100,000

Edit - Bima beat me to it.

As I said in the above post , you had the right percentage - without the +100k part.

The numbers in my post are all out of whack as a result …. I'll have to go back and recalculate everything.

Or maybe, like, you know, he saw Durant and Cousins tear achilles in contract years and wants to lock in his payday now?

Nahhh, him not wanting to risk injury and take a pay cut doing it means he doesn't want to come to Houston. You're right.

I didn’t say he wouldn’t end up in Houston.

Ask CP3 if the Rockets honor their promises.

Had Butler opted in, he would have received more money from the Rockets.
