Hate to say this, but as he was running to second on the force out I was thinking something similarly.
As much as I love almost everything about our organization, the one big flaw is our inability to produce quality, home-grown arms from within.
This season would have been perfect for Whitley to finally come up and show his stuff except he was sucking major ass in the minor then got hurt
The Astros have the third best record in the AL. I mean this stretch sucks but it’s less than a 10th of a season worth of sample size. Lunhow will make a move or two but it won’t be in panic.
Nor should there be panic. The team will be fine, but it’s a rough stretch no doubt. Still, pitching help is needed. Team needs those clutch hits to start happening too.
can you imagine if they choke away the division to the rangers? If they miss the playoff I might just stop being a fan
Where did I say someone was panicking? I simply stated a couple facts with no mention of anyone else’s take on it.
It actually goes to show you how good the organization has been this year. Going into this year the only 2 rotation spots you could really rely on were Verlander and Cole. Miley, McHugh, Peacock, those are not 3/5 starters on a WS winning team when the season started, yet even with this really ugly stretch the team still looks good. Are they WS caliber today? I don't think so, but Luhnow will make a deal I'm sure of it and that deal will swing things.
Yesterday and today the Stros have 18 hits and have scored 2 runs. The Pirates have 29 hits and have scored 24 runs.
