Morey wouldn’t be this active if he didn’t have any indication or information from Butlers camp that there is a strong chance he is very interested.

Yeah I agree. No way there is this much smoke if Butler is like "gee guys, I have zero interest lol"

That doesn't mean it's a lock, but he's at least interested. At LEAST.

If it was a three-team trade that netted me Butler and Covington, then I’d be alright with moving Tucker. JaMychal Green isn’t in the same stratosphere as Tucker defensively so he’s a hard no for me.

If he is shopping Tucker who he seems to covet highly you know there is a strong chance.

No, I'm saying that, after a guy has issues with the team in EVERY PLACE HE HAS EVER PLAYED, it seems unlikely that it was ALL the fault of the situations and not him repeatedly being a giant pain in the @ss.

And since you apparently lack the ability to look up how Butler got along with the team in Philly for yourself, he's a free sample:

But you just said to another poster that Tucker/Capela/Gordon is just too much to give up when he didn't mention about that scenario, he was just talking about Tucker for Butler.

i clearly said in that post that if it was PJ for butler that scenario is entirely different. Which it obviously is

I agree. Which is why it makes no sense for Butler to ask the Rockets to gut their roster for him when he can accept his player option with the understanding he’ll get a max contract from the Rockets next season. The situation in Philadelphia is better if the Rockets must give up all three of Capela, Gordon and Tucker for him.

I understand his frustrations with both those teams. He also demanded a trade from Chicago cause things weren't exactly to his liking. He admittedly said after the trade, "I probably went about things the wrong way.” Then you have the blow up in Minny. He's been okay in Philly but vocal about his feelings at times.

It's not a mischaracterization to say that he has baggage. It's something to consider when you bring him in. I'm not advocating that they not go after him. But if you want to use the pretty girl analogy again, plenty of them may have reasons to burn their ex's homes they just don't all go about it that way. He handles his frustrations in a different way and there are clearly receipts of how he might go about it if things get tense. You're right though, with two HOFers on the team he might be in a better element. And, in this situation, I think it would be pretty vital to have a guy like Tucker still on the team when the dust settles.

They dun but Tucker proved he was the 3rd most important guy in the Playoffs. Like Kawhi there is a Playoff Tucker.

There is a sad sentiment if he leaves.

How do you propose to successfully replace them for next season if the Rockets are hard capped at the apron and can only offer the MLE, BAE and minimum contracts to free agents? You can get a starting-caliber player for the MLE, but good luck doing so with the BAE.

Definitely should be looking into taking back Robert Williams to Back up Hopefully DJ in this scenario.

That's asking a player to take a LOT of risk (declining four year $140M offers or possibly 5 yr $190M so he can sign for one year, $20M) just so he can do the Rockets a favor. A lot of things can happen in a year.

once again, I don’t give a damn about issues with terrible organizations like the Bulls and Wolves

Being mad about his role in Philly? Wow, I guess that means Jimmy is just a terrible person.

Butler has expressed a desire to teammates to play in more traditional pick-and-roll and isolation sets, rather than trying to find his place in the Sixers' free-flowing offense, league sources said. In searching for answers, Butler has met privately with Brown and his coaching staff, as well as general manager Elton Brand, league sources told ESPN.

hmmm, looks like he’ll fit right in here

    next...

I understand. But, it’s either that, or the deal is Gordon, Capela and draft picks for Butler. All three of Gordon, Capela and Tucker is too much.

Well, PJ for Butler has obviously zero chance to happen, but i'm just talking in terms of value of the player, it's just like it sounds like some of you would really pass on a Gordon plus PJ for Butler trade, but maybe it's just a wrong guess ;)
