Surprisingly, BB's cajun has had the best I've had recently.

    Who's got better ones?

El Mirador; Barbaro; Liberty Bar; Mi Tierra; these are all in San Antonio btw

**** Austin. Can't help you swampers in Houston.

My front porch is the best one you'll ever have.

Best one I’ve had hands down is el tiempo
Specifically the one on navigation. The sauce they use has some nice spices in it. Super good

Don’t come with those mambos bs ones..

Never had the el tiempo ones but whole heartedly agree with the mambos bs.

Pastry Wars downtown makes an amazing one.

Pastry Wars downtown as another poster mentioned. Captain Tom's is pretty delish as well - put a couple of raw oysters in that michelada...

    I love micheladas!

Captain Toms and El Real make em pretty good. El Tiempo was surprisingly disappointing.

That's what I meant to say Captain Toms. I don't know where I got Sams Boat.

Anyone combine their own mixture of spices/peppers instead of the prepackaged hot sauces and tajin seasoning, seems like all the online recipes are using. I have some smoky paprika and cayenne powder, wanting to try some combination with those.

Spanish flowers has a pretty good one. Cadillac bar but you can get the mix they use at the DT specs it’s called Nina’s naturals michelada mix and it’s hands down the best store bought I’ve ever had. I’ll be checking out some of these other suggestions.

    Clamato
    Lime juice
    Worschestire
Valentina, or some other bottled Mexican hot sauce
    Tabasco
    Salt
    Pepper
    Tajin

Always say no to Valentina. That stuff is horrible.

When I was in Mexico City, they also used Maggi liquid seasoning. Made a significant difference. I personally scratch the worcestershire.

For pre-packaged ones, I like Finest Calls- It makes a tangy michelada. Clamato makes one and its pretty plain jane with not a lot of flavor.

More replacing the tajin & bottled sauce, was the crux.

Flavor is really good with chili, cayenne, smoked paprika, sugar, salt, lime, maggi's and worcestershire... the problem I have so far is every attempt all this stuff is neutralizing my carbonation, how do you keep this from happening?

Get higher carbonated beer. That would be one guess. I am no expert though. Also pouring method affects how much you lose. I don't know if the order you mix your drink does, but I'm sure there is a reaction taking place so check on what order you mix things.
