Players can *say* they are opting out. But until they *actually do it* it is just lip service. Sometimes to motivate actions.

its true but none of them are as good as jimmy butler. having butler out there would have been more impactful in my opinion.

Correct. The only way a guy is signing to play here is if he is old and in need of that final contract or coming off an injury or something.
