Why would Durant want a contract from Max?

Not saying i disagree with him here, but this just shows this guy knows exactly what hes doing when he opens his mouth. He says something that's outrageous (but not THAT outrageous that some people will believe it) so people will talk about him, engage with his tweets, watch his videos, get clicks.

Realize he's not here to analyze, he's here to provoke.

The Warriors should be required to offer KD a max contract for max years what they did.

I agree with Kellerman who here still think Hayward is gonna be a top player in the league next year?

If you are a sadsack team like NYK you still do it I guess but reality is KD days as one of the best players in the league are done. Major injuries like these are like a dam, once it burst you will almost never be healthy again you will always have one thing or the other bothering you and it will severely affect his mobility going forward.

GSW just used then destroyed KD cuz they knew they were gonna lose him next year and dont another team benefitting from lol.

    Why is this **** posted?

Max Kellerman knows nothing about basketball. He is a boxing commentator that covers basketball because of ESPN cut backs and no one caring about boxing.

They aren’t even his own opinions, they are whatever will get people to talk.

Yeah... okay. If nothing else he can camp out at the three point line and drop 25 points off kick outs. He is 7’1” and one of the 5-10 best shooters in the world.... hell Dirk has hat Steve VanGundy athleticism for a decade and still dropped 20+.

When his Achilles heals he will still be KD. worthy of a max.

Controversial take, goes against quite a bit of good knowledge.

He's over 30 and has suffered a catastrophic ACL injury. There's a guy who some might say is... "the greatest ever and the most competitive." He tore his ACL and recovered, but he could not stay healthy and he wasn't making the same kind of shots, while being a worse defender on some really bad, inexperienced rosters.

KD is getting/will get/sign a maximum deal with some team. If it's the ones who everyone claim or who I think has a moderate chance.

Which is back to Golden State on a short, big deal.

The Clippers who have structure could work.

The Knicks who are a terrible mess in almost every fathomable sense. Imagine, if Morey ran the Knicks, they'd already been in the playoffs without those bad contracts everyway, instead of Phil Jackson. I digress. KD can sit, while RJ can learn the NBA. The Knicks can do their tanking thing, pray nothing stupid happens. They grab another high lottery pick and they can sign another max guy in 2020. You have all your promising young players, future star in RJ, healthy KD, and 2020 max guy (AD, possibly or the other AD). Imagine if they had Morey in place. Anyway.

Nets have a few positives, but even with KD and 2nd star. That does not guarantee a top 4 finish, necessarily. Then, you'd have to consider will they resign Russell, if they get Kyrie.

Long shots: Lakers, Mavs, or back to OKC.

KD is a matchup nightmare not cos of his athleticism, but cos he is7ft and can score from practically anywhere in the halfcourt.

Even on crutches, he is still better offensively than half of the league.

BTW medical science is not stationary and there are improvements everyday.

Yeah but when Dirk has reached that stage he isn't making 40M a year.

Cp3 and Gordon Hayward didn't play like NBA rejects but they get so much hate because they are making the max. If KD loses his mobility and he signs 4 year max somewhere else he is gonna get roasted. I mean Lebron posted 25 8 8 still isn't enough for Lakers fans what more a crippled KD?

Dirk in his prime was way above average athleticism for his size. Dude was a nightmare cover for big men given his foot speed and he had the size and strength to post up guards.

CP3 shouldn’t be getting hate, he is the second best player on the Rockets. I still think KD will come back at something close to what he has been. Even if he loses 20% he is worthy of a max deal. The Warriors will offer him the max, so will a number of other teams. The Rockets gladly would if they could.

Good thing I wasn’t talking about Dirk in his prime.

How is Cp3 the 2nd best player on the Rox when EG, Capela and PJ Tucker still on the team?

Other teams offering KD the max was never an issue, the problem is will he still be a top player in the NBA? Past 30, with chronic leg issues and now an achilles tear...I think not. He can come back just like Hayward came back but his days as a top 3 NBA player are done.

Would Kellerman just stick to boxing already?
