Yea I understand waiting on Super 2 for Alvarez, don't like it, but I get it Tucker is a weird situation. Hitting .367 for the last 30 days with power, would have to wait until August to hold off Super two because of last years time, which means you wouldn't get to see if he has adjusted enough to handle mlb pitching until after the trade deadline. But if they aren't planning on waiting out Super 2, they should go ahead and bring him up now with all of the injuries. Tough situation to figure on Tucker....give it two more weeks and Alvarez is likely here
Edit: Didn't see other thread but man it's worrisome given Brantley was the one who is supposed to be "injury prone" and he's one of the two still standing right now.
Another year of club control for tucker on something like June 3. The entire OF could get Ebola and we wouldn’t see him before then. They’d rather suit me up for the next 6 days or so.
Yeah but with the way things are happening in terms of rookie contracts, if he really does produce then its most likely they'll buy out his Arb years like how the braves did with ocuna. This is all about leverage.
No it’s not, you’ve got that wrong for Tucker. For Tucker it’s about club control until he spends 65 days in the minors. That happens sometime in the first week of June. He had 51 days of MLB service time last year. To get an extra year of club control requires him to be down 65 days this year.
I’d guess super two is done. I’d guess the astros think so too. I’d also not bet 8 figures potentially on it. One more week.
They're talking about around the ASB for Smith. Powell was very solid in '98 after we traded for him, groundball machine, he caught much more grief than he should have because he lost his mojo afterwards.
Seems very positive but I hope Altuve recovers. Just nervous seeing him especially when you see what's going on with Dustin P in Boston.
