Best swing he's had in a while. Routine fly ball.

He's swinging like he already knows he's out of a job. No aggressivness or energy.

When your weight is higher than your batting average, there are real issues.

Still at work, so just watching the live update on the MLB website. Can someone tweet at the Astros to make sure to steal something from T-Mobile park for Chirinos? Or tear up a patch of grass or grab some dirt from the batting box. They need to take the juju from this park with them.

Is there anything better in baseball than the silent treatment?

Considering his weight White could have a pretty damn good avg.

I'd give Verlander one more inning.

Then bring in Tyler White to pitch the 8th.

The next step is when he goes out in the field, dugout takes a ball and just scribbles their names all over it, give it back to him after the inning and tell him that's his HR ball.

Tomorrow: Jack Mayfield on IL. Diagnosis: jaw strain. Probable cause: smiling too much.

Can Tyler White learn to throw left-handed?

I tried for a few years to regularly hurt myself with the perma-grin.

It can't be done, not pharmaceuticaly at least.

Can you imagine if, just like a trebuchet, we could efficiently convert the potential energy of Tyler White at the top of the mound into rotational kinetic energy at the bottom of the mound?

I don't think Hinch would even do it again.

Hinch not playing around today. Verlander has pitched a lot of innings.... likely best to get him out and maybe try to limit fatigue.
