IDGAF what players do before or after they are Rockets …. only while they are Rockets. I'm a fan of the franchise and the city …. players come and go. Win a Championship here …. wonderful , we can celebrate. Win one someone else - IDGAF.
How is it that the option in which neither Harden nor the Rockets win any championships for the next several years is winning this poll?
My question is.....Why cant he win one with Houston? Why is it not even a option? Appears to be a obvious troll perpretrated against the Rockets fan base.
Because that would be the 100% vote, I said this the first sentence of the thread. I'm asking if we'd rather Harden finish his career as a legacy Rocket, but with no rings, or if we care enough about him as a person who's given everything he has to Houston to go elsewhere and get his long-coveted championship individually. When a team loses an MVP they don't get better, and they certainly don't compete for a title for at least 4 or 5 years. That's why trading Harden and winning a title is not in the poll.
Yes, I agree. What makes you think he can get a ring anywhere else, and why would you want him to on another team if it doesn't happen here? Put Paul as the ball handler and just let him play shooting guard and maybe then, with less turnovers and ISO we will be better off with him.
Care enough about Harden as a person? Lol...... what? Im a Rockets fan, not only a James Harden fan. Im James Harden fan because he is a Houston Rocket. Not the other way around. I guess this is why I dont get these hypothetical propositions. I would rather him win it all here. To me the options you proposed dont even exist until that time comes when he is no longer the star was or he ask for a trade. Why bring up non existent negative scenarios. Why cant we decide once that time has come. We are too close to getting over the hump to be thinking like this. Plus our playoff performance and cap situation is plenty negative to be worried about.
When is it time for those threads if not the Offseason? Technically it ain't even Offseason, during an NBA Finals that does not involve the Rockets. Harden is out partying, why can't certain posters have a hyperbole thread here and there? Why does it have to be realistic and serious all the time?
I believe he meant something along the lines of.... That should have been a option too if he was going to make the 2 other silly options. Not that he wants him gone to win or anything.
It doesn't but I'll just say this. It is the off season.....You can tell by the quality of thread content that has been posted since we lost.
If it's a consolation, the GSW might not even win it, they have the best team assembled. Injuries or not. Championships are not something you can predict. (If somehow Harden had the hunch he can't win in Houston in his prime, wouldn't it be logical to let him win somewhere else, at least he has to try, there is no guarantee.) I might be wrong but I knew for a long time that the team/coaching staff were not on the same page as the FO or the ownership. Everyone wanted to win, but on their terms, and there were flashes of brilliance but in the end it shows. Also stability and continuity are rare with someone like Morey who treats players like assets. And it always went from one extreme (undersized) (old washed up vets) to another extreme (one way players)(no midrange).
