Tracy McGrady: CP3 wanted more movement out of James Harden. Harden didn't budge.

we weren't up 5-7. the game was tied 97-97 when capela came in for cp3 at the 6 min mark

 

I have yet to see anybody make that point. People are frustrated that certain posters are pointing at Harden as if he was the main reason for the loss when players like Paul and Capela were MIA for the most part. Not to mention Mike's struggles. Harden had his mistakes, but he was probably the 4-5th reason the Rockets loss and the MAIN reason they were even in the series to begin with.

 

Our 3rd highest paid player showed up wearing the 6th best player hat. That's unacceptable

 

I'd have to go back and look but I remember us being up. I'm going to find the game log.

the rockets were up 82-89 after cp3 hit a jumper at the beginning of the 4th

 

Here is where me and @YOLO differ from you guys. THIS IS THE ONLY DIVERGENT IDEA - We think Harden's greatness should be able to get the Rockets over the hump in a 50/50 game.

Doesn't matter if CP3 was cremated before game 1 of the series, Doesn't matter if Clint forgot how to play basketball, doesn't matter that PJ is 6'1 playing center. The series was won by just a few points in total. Harden makes up that difference.

 

I call BS

 

Unfortunately, no one single player can beat the Warriors. So yeah, Harden playing better would have been good. But CP3 and Capela playing adequate would have been very good. I think it's more reasonable to expect CP3 and Capela to do something than it is to expect Harden to do everything.

Even if Harden had to exert a huge amount of energy to keep it 50/50? Seems like it'd be a better idea for other guys to play better so he'd have more energy to close.

 

You're making way too much sense here.

 

Thats what happens when no one is moving, trying to get open. They force stuff that isnt there.

Granted Harden is more successful playing iso but thats not sufficient to win. Harden gets tired.

 

this is why im extremely confused why people got all upset. what were saying and have been saying isn't even much of an insult. yet by the looks of it we may have said harden flat out sucks

 

I do agree with the lack of movement hurting Paul. He couldn't get separation and Klay is a hell of a defender. It was still sad to see him not even be able to get a shot attempt on that jump ball though. Mike should have helped him out there and called a play.

 

Which is why CP3 should be setting people up.
