I'm confident he murders/puts processes in place that murder people everyday.

I guess this is slightly more high-profile so it rankles some sensibilities.

Is this why Trump has a love affair for Kim? His authoritarian hammer seems to arouse Trump. I'm sure Trump wishes he had the powers of Kim and is jealous.

I heard Kim is aggressively pursuing all deals to improve so this makes sense.

Yet we have decided to negotiate with this man and to actually praise him.

OK, just kill Kim already. If he isn't going to actually make progress, then send a robotic insect with some cyanide to take care of business. We all know they have the technology.

If we don't do that, we might try not praising him, and allowing him to get away with lying to us about denuclearizing his nation. We might just try to actually look at the intelligence that shows he is continuing or even increasing his nuclear capabilities and violating the UN agreements. That might be a start. Then the kill robotic insect can come next.

The United States, South Korea and others have all negotiated with North Korea for 60+ years.

All of NK's leaders in that time have been murderers.

I don't think it's proper to praise him.

I think it is proper to attempt a diplomatic resolution to the conflict on the Korean peninsula.

There is a difference between negotiating and singing praise about a authoritarian maniac.

Look at how Obama handled the Iran negotiations. He still had harsh words for the Iranian regime and explicitly said that the deal isn't based on mutual trust but rather snap IAEA inspections.

It's because Trump has a very child like understanding of negotiations at this level. He thinks that negging followed up by flattery is how you handle negotiations with other nations... Like how a child percieves negotiations from watching Hollywood movies.

Nook said, "and we have decided to negotiate with this man" - which says to me, he thinks that negotiating with Kim Jong Un is an improper course of action. If that is his position, I think it is not a good one.

I think negotiations should happen only under conditions similar to the Iran deal where snap inspections were allowed by the IAEA with a commitment from NK to dismantle their nuclear armament while we lift sanctions and return sanctioned assets.

I wonder if Kim even realize how abnormal this is. He might be stuck at the 14th or whatever century.
