Yes and in 1994 It was obvious that NBC wanted the Knicks to beat the Rockets They portrayed Houston As a crap place I’m happy the Knicks and Lakers are suffering
SB Nation, pretty big media 1994 wasn't about CLUTCH CITY, to them, the Knicks CHOKED in game 7 Nah bro. They faced Clutch City because we made the Finals the NEXT YEAR as well and they didn't.
ESPN's top story is the Lakers this team is not in the playoffs, it's the NBA finals time now yeah, quite obvious
Other than Lebron who has gone to a big market team, and Lebron went there to make movies. GSW was not a big market before they started winning.
The salt is fun when your look at Oakland (and San Antonio before that), two franchises adored by everyone out there (just mentioning "POP" makes people go weak in the knees). What is it with this "Boohooh people are mean against us" attitude here in Houston? And of course the trouble LA Lakers is a big story, especially since we are all in play off limbo right now. One of the historic top franchises burning down when one of the greatest players of all time is there... it's delicious. Same with the Knicks, iconic franchise and enough drama to keep everyone amused (the "Melo-drama"... oh dear). The media isn't in it to cater to us.. they are in it to make money and like it or not, that means bringing up stories people love to follow. And if it's a cinderella story a small town is just fine... but it needs to have big appeal.
Still remember Bob Costas looking upset during the interviews on the court after the Rockets won. Legitimately looked like his dog just died.
What's hilarious is how gullible Clutchfans thinks that Max Kellerman and Stephen A Smith actually care about the Rockets I like to segment Clutchfans to suckers and non-suckers
