I never liked the way they celebrate. This was my concern his rookie year when he threw altuve to the ground. Baseball gods forgive us for our daily trespasses and deliver us from injuries.
The Yankees are winning with AAA players and thankfully our schedule is about to lighten up. We can do this, but damn man. The guy is just a month long IL stint waiting to happen every freaking year.
Ok, so here's my best take on looking at the bright side of things... 1. Wake up call to players that it's as easy to get hurt off the field as it is on, so don't think you're invincible, especially at the end of the season. 2. This will give time to showcase AAA talent most likely to be involved in a #3 pitcher trade. If Straw can demonstrate the same defensive prowess as Marisnick in CF, perhaps it may be a time to trade high on Marisnick before the inevitable batting regression takes place. 3. As with Springer, the consistent year-to-year injuries definitely lower their contract extension value. There's no question IMO it's delayed any extension talk. Ironically, these injuries may ultimately aid in the Astros being able to afford both of them long term.
Explains why AJ was clearly pissed when asked about it last night, and simply said "Carlos wasn't here tonight"
Think it will make it more difficult to sign him because at least one team is going to pay injury or not, probably all, and the Astros will need to forget all of that injury history to pay and sign the deal. Which they should do. Just sign him. It's mandatory as far as I'm concerned. Same with Springer. Can't play money games. Big boobies seem to have sidelined our best. You can't juggle that kind of weight without causing an in-balance somewhere. My recommendation is not to juggle, simply, apply equal pressure at all times. And wear two fat wallets, not one, as that does cause some long term back problems. But best not wear a wallet at all, at least on your buttox.
