I don't remember him doing this in the minors though I guess he did, but Stubbs waiting until the pitcher is in the middle of his delivery to hop into position is terrible technique. And frankly it's annoying as hell to watch.
Definitely needs improvement, but he's already better than the guy he replaced. I hope Max gets better soon, but I don't miss Trasshi at all.
There's something terrifying about a Josh James fastball. Terrifying to the batter, that is. Cole throws nearly as hard, but it's a little less "electric." James' fastball gets in there fast and with presence, and you don't know if he might just drop 101 on you while he's at it. Then he just puts that breaking ball in there, and you're done. I like this kid a lot.
I'm talking about behind the plate you nimrods. Asking the pitcher to hit a moving target is not ideal.
I still see an above average offense with a great pitching staff. This team can still win games. This team still roll out 10 straight wins. The Astros will likely be favored to win every game for at least the next three weeks until they play the Yankees. There is no reason to assume this team will struggle against weaker teams.
At the rate Stubbs is playing tonight, we better all pitch in for a hefty supply of Kleenex for his dad.
