That dribbler was karma evening things out for him after that smash he hit earlier. Bottom 6 of the order all have an RBI.
Turns out that it is rare, but not the first time ever. Tommy John started against John Candelaria (“The Candy Man”) when the Yankees played the California Angels on Sept. 6, 1987.
Nice inning, Stros. I'm glad we got the run, but in an alternative universe, I would have liked to have seen their catcher try to block the plate against White barreling towards home.
He did. I still don’t think he’s going to sustain any real productivity in the majors. Hope I’m wrong. But if not we got Alvarez. So win win.
After all the talk about White losing his job to Alvarez... how funny would it be if the whale is beached by Jack Mayfield or Derek Fisher?
Honestly, White's been making a case to stay up, lately. All these injuries have given him some extra time to prove himself, and he's doing better. If he can keep up the current improvement and get his weight down, he may get to stay. And good for him.
The Astros have a treasure trove of present/future MLB depth in their organization. It becomes more and more evident every passing day.
You must be watching something I am not... Last 7 games .240 AVG, .269 OBP, 400 SLG Last 15 games .204 AVG, .259 OBP, .327 SLG If that's all we are getting from our DH/1B I would rather have someone that can play more positions like Mayfield or Fisher.
