I would bet on it being Straw. Speed, ability to play CF, and, of course, the experiment at SS has gone much better than anyone would have thought. Likely it's him.
Missed the whole game. The Day of Rest is frequently my busiest day. Box score is ugly. What happened? Did we get outpitched, are we in a typical Astros slump where just all the offense falls off at once? Sucks about Diaz.
Had chances with men on base in the first 3 innings, couldn't get a hit, then the bats went to sleep for the rest of the game. Very sloppy game. They got their first run on 2 infield hits (1 could have been an out) and 2 wild pitches by JV. The solo HR by Devers was the only legit run they scored.
Do we really need Straw, Marisnick, Fisher and Kemp on the roster? If they bring him up over Alvarez or Tucker that's a joke.
Agreed. My main point with the playoffs is that pretty much any team with the exception of probably the Orioles could beat any other team in any given playoff series. That’s just how baseball works. You have to be good enough to get there. But the Astros will be one of the favorites and have the team to go all the way. No question.
He did rob some Indian of a HR, but otherwise he was noticeably bad. Like yelling at himself bad. Not his fault, he's just never played there much at all for a reason.
Just watched the game, mostly with the fast forward button in hand. How bad was that strike 3 call against Brantley in the eighth? Could have been a game changer if Correa gets up with 2 men on. Oh well. Have to be happy with how this team has handled themselves.
It's been a while, but I thought I remembered a post game interview where he was ribbing Hinch because he never played him in CF after he'd made some difficult plays. I'd prefer him not to play CF but I think he does better than Kemp.
I'll take 4-2 any season against them. I'll take 4-2 in the playoffs, too. 4-0, 4-1, 4-3 also acceptable. Also, related to your comment, am I the only that doesn't really hate the Sox? I hate the media fawning over them, and there are no doubt plenty of annoying Boston sports fans, but I don't hate this team. They're a solid, interesting rival, and they're a talented group of guys. They don't seem like a bunch of jerks. Except Cora. He always looks like a jerk when I see him sulking or sighing in the dugout or b****ing at the umps. The team seems fine, though. Unless I'm missing something; feel free to correct me. This is definitely not Rockets-Warriors, where the actual Warriors players and coach are all a bunch of douchebags.
Before we were forced into AL they and Indians were my favorite AL teams, although it's anyone but Yankees really.
Interesting... he has been playing shortstop in Round Rock. Thankfully I am too young to remember Eric Yelding.
