The problem with going strictly off box score stats is that doesn’t chart the *impact* of what Curry’s 2nd half run was like. It was demoralizing. It killed the Toyota Center crowd. You could see it zap the Rockets energy.

That goes beyond “oh well he has a better supporting cast so of course they win”. Curry took took advantage of his chances in Game 5 and 6. Harden did not.

 

Cool now go look at the series stats like Ive been telling you. Curry is not getting off for PLAYING POORLY with Durant, not happening. Especially since he performed WELL with Durant. Thats a terrible argument which Im not having any of.

Yea, he played well in the 4th hats off to him. Harden didnt play as well in the 4th, it happens. One game out of 6.

Well put sir. Which is the difference between Harden vs the upper echelon superstars in the NBA. There is no stat for will to win. As soft as I think Curry is, he showed me those 2 games he wants to win more than Harden does, PERIOD. This is troubling to me. Harden will play a extra 10 mins in a blowout for that 60pt triple double, but won't compete his hardest in the last 7mins of the biggest playoff game of his career? With Kevin Durant injured.

Yea cause thats where you win that game. Curry is a great player, its not out of the ordinary for him to do stuff like that. Andre going 5/8 from 3 is way out of the ordinary. Looney dominating us on the glass is out of the ordinary, that should not happen. Sure in the closing seconds it all seems like its more important but games are played for 4 quarters.

 

Honestly, sometimes it just seems like some of you dudes just hate Harden, so instead of like appreciating and backing your star player, you still try to ask for more even when it wasnt his fault.

 

Outside of firing Mike, which still needs to happen, the Rockets should consider moving James “back” to shooting guard. I’m not saying this because James can’t play PG rather our highest paid player (Paul) can’t play anything else.

It was striking to see him be unable to separate from pretty much any player in the playoffs. I think that last hamstring injury accelerated his decline. We need to be running a P&R for him pretty much anytime he’s on the floor and allow him to make decisions. Harden should be the release valve if our play falls apart.

Basically we need to change our offense. Yes I know this is a pipe dream with Mike at the helm as he’s gotten lazy with James bailing him out. We also need some serious player development.

Who on here doesn’t appreciate Harden? Some warranted criticism doesn’t mean he’s not appreciated.

I back Harden all the time. Go look at my posting history. I just know he has another level to reach and I want to see him reach it. I’m not going to foolishly say he has reached his apex. I know how good he is capable of being and his playoff history is most certainly not that level.

 

Simply untrue. You may have felt this way, but go rewatch the game and look at how the team and the building reacted to those guys making plays vs Curry’s 2nd half run. Just go back and watch.
