They literally get away with harassing opponent players..usually lots of contacts but no call... referees are afraid to make calls against GS in closing minutes.

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26765468/lillard-lot-contact-iguodala-final-play

Any team that wants to beat GS need to lead by 10+ point going into last 2 minutes...anything less is at the mercy of officials...less than 5 points lead most likely to loose the game.

looks like great defense on Iggy's part. credit to him. There's no foul worthy of being called there tbh

not the best example being used here

Yep, in slow motion, it looks more like Lillard initiated more of the contact with his right arm sweeping Iggy's arm and chest as well as pushing off. Lots of star players get away with that including Harden. That was just good defense by Iggy.

The general understood unwritten rule in the NBA is the officials hold the whistle in the closing moments of crunch time unless the foul is blatantly obvious. This is specifically why there was so much controversy over Harden's landing space in game 1.

This board has wet dreams about allegedly physical 90s style basketball and you complain about this?

And @Clutch on one of his playoff podcasts flat out said that the simple fact that *refs don't like to call fouls on stars* and that GSW *has a lot of stars* just gives them an advantage with foul calls. I actually never thought about it *that simply* but yeah, that is just another *privilege* they get with a stacked roster.

We do that to an extent too.

Must've been hard for Capela on both ends, but this wasn't his first rodeo.

Good for Lillard for being thrown in the referee fire...

The same thing on GS offense would've been called a foul.. officials aren't consistent when it comes to GS.. that's why they win close games.

This is true. I also want Morey to go after Seth this summer. You need all the advantages over dubs u can get psychological or physical. Steph even said it’s a major psychological problem playing against his brother. He’s more likely to let it go

This is assumption based on observations... GS team gets away with fouls, illegal screenings, travelling etc.

Every team tries to be as physical as possible in last second shots, knowing it has to be blatant for a ref to call it in that situation. I don’t think this is unique to the Warriors.

Steph Curry was in constant foul trouble against the Rockets, to the point where in a Game 6, without KD, at the Toyota Center, he had to sit much of the first half. The game was tied at half-time.

The insistence on putting this on the refs is troubling.

Holic is the most unbiased and one of the smartest posters on this forum.

There are at least 3 missing calls on final 2 minutes each game.

Referees Zach Zarba has about 20 missing calls on each game. 80% of them are disputable missing calls.
Starters will never foul out under him.

This is not binary. It isn't putting it ON or NOT ON the refs. There is nuance. I think they thing on fouls though is....will the player be fouled out? Curry fouled out twice in Game 1. Again, nuance.

It is on nuance. And here's the nuance that Rockets fans fail to see. They missed a foul on Curry down the stretch of Game 1. But they also called earlier fouls on Curry where even as a biased Rockets fan, I didn't see it. If I remember correctly, he got his 5th foul around 8 minutes left in the 4th. And was replaced ... but only for a brief stretch because it was clear GSW needed him out there.

Plus... this isn't new. The GSW are MASTERS at defending at the grey line. For the most part the go up to it, and not over it. Not just defending, setting picks also

Another reason I really don't understand a play style that relies on getting refs to call defensive fouls on "either way" calls in the playoffs. Eg. the landing zone calls.

Or the play form last night. Might have been a foul. Or Lillard actually pushing Iggy away. But basically probably a no call makes sense.
