Harden can't be the leader of a championship team and MDA is not going to win you one either. Unfortunately CP3 contract has killed all good rebuilding options
MDA's postgame presser on why he ran capela out there even though he wasn't having a good series -- "clint is such a classy guy, and if i'm gonna lose it's gonna be with a guy like him"
Uh, Chris Paul is not going anywhere. We all applauded Morey for making Ryan Anderson disappear. But he would have to be freaking Harry Houdini to make Chris Paul go poof.
You’re spot on man. I’m just so upset all I can do is spew nonsense in the hopes of coming up with something. The fact of the matter is we are ****ed! There is no getting out of this predicament
Get dantoni the **** out of here, onus is on him, capela is second, CP3 third. I don't want to blame harden he's carried us all season. The way rockets play in the postseadon including wasting shot clock when we are DOWN in game 5, the incessant switching which results in capela going outside the restricted area which negates his height advantage and rebounding ability, the questionable substitutions. These are all on the head coach. I'm sure dantoni was worried about rebounding because of height disadvantage. But WHY THE **** than would you allow Capela to be switched onto the guards outside the restricted area? KEEP HIM IN THE PAINT. These are adjustments that should have already been made during the seasons. DANTONI needs to go and we need to find a way to trade capela
Rockets are a retirement home for fading players and wilting all stars, we are this way because actual NBA players that can contribute don't want to come here and play with him. That is his fault.
That's the dream but in reality, we're going to bang our heads against the wall again next year while trading 4 1sts and future we have left for a 3rd star on his last year and it'll blow up in Morey's face. Another year will be wasted and we'll still be wondering why Morey paid CP3 more than Harden.
Dantoni is top on the list to go. We don't even run his system. I doubt any new coach would have trouble running isos all game. In reality I know it's going to be hard to completely rebuild. Harden is in his prime and CP is untradable. It's also a business and they may rather consistently win 50 games and flame out than starting over. That's the worst part. It's going to be hard to get excited with this core going forward.
The rational thing is probably not to blow it up. To keep tinkering and hope things break your way. But sometimes you just have to admit that you've been dealt a losing hand. Sometimes you just have to fold.
