Tilman was right to give up assets to duck the Luxury Tax. This team does not have whatever it is you need to win a title. No player they could have acquired would have given this team the ability to want to win. This team did not deserve an owner willing to spend the money.
Couldn't disagree more. Every game in this series was decided by 2 possessions. That's a slight bench upgrade, if that. The team pissed it away, but no way we can say a little bit more wouldn't have mattered.
I couldn’t agree more. As much as people point the finger at Harden and even Paul to a certain extent they just don’t have the pieces to win the title. I was hopeful when Durrant one hour for an injury they could pull off a victory but deep down inside they don’t have the talent. Watching guys like Gerald Green jack up stupid shots and Capela play soft says everything. This is a one man show... James Harden. Paul has a good game tonight but he’s not an elite player anymore and he can’t defend against taller players. We all hoped Morey would sign the quality SF to replace Ariza but that never happened. This team just doesn’t have the talent
Coach gave this series away. Inadequate adjustments and Capella has played like garbage and you put Ne Ne in versus Faried. MDA should go. This team should go. Rebuild time.
They have the pieces, but you can't play an offense that does nothing but isolations and only shoots 3's or layups. They WILL NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WAY... T_Man
There are only 3 options- he will never spend into the luxury tax, he does not believe in this team, or both. This was the year to spend and he didn’t. Waiting for Harden and CP3 to be older doesn’t make sense. So what does this tell us? I think you are right. He doesn’t see this team is good enough to beat GS. If that’s the case, you are also right that he’s right.
Morey's bargain bin shop finds - House, Green, Faried, somewhat Rivers - were exposed. You need real NBA players if you want to play with the big boys. Or a coach who can fit those types into a scheme that is more intricate than "stand, stand, wait, catch, SHOOOT"
This is about game 6 and to a lesser extent game 5. We **** the bed in both games when given oppotunities to win. Rather than take the game over, we rolled over. Especially tonight, where GSW did their best to give us this game, the Rockets couldn't be bothered to play coherently or with effort for at least the first 40 minutes of gameplay. I personally did not think the Rockets were capable of such a performance. But, I was wrong. This team doesn't have it, whatever it is.
