Agreed. Eric has been great so far, if he has a bad game you have to accept it, he's just not that consistent, otherwise he would be an all star.

We won the rebound battle the past two games. We had more energy at home, and hustled a lot more. The switching defense is the one thing keeping us in ball games. We just have to hustle.

 

This game has the feel of WCF game 4. We trailed 28-19 after 1Q, but then actually went on a run to lead 53-46 at half. Then GS exploded in the 3Q and we trailed 80-70 after 3Q. We outscored them 25-12 in the 4th to win 95-92. We are going to have to clamp down defensively and try to slug our way back in.

The Rockets are built to maximize James’ talents as the best iso player in the game. That’s all fine and good in the regular season (other than making us the most disliked team in the league but whatever) but it’s too predictable and easy to defend in the playoffs. It’s not just that teams “study” each other more - the sheer repetition of sets leads to muscle memory when it comes to defending and attacking defenses.

Chris Paul has proven to be a poor fit with Harden, because neither player makes the other better. How could they in this offense? They take turns running a play, with the off-ball guy standing way behind the three point line scratching his ass. I suppose it’s nice to have a premier creator on the floor for 48 minutes but given the minutes James plays, it isn’t exactly making a huge difference. It certainly doesn’t make up for the lack of rebounding, defensive length and above the rim athleticism that this team lacks badly.

It’s time for Tillman and Morey to recognize that the ceiling for this team (as it is today) is somewhere between a 2nd round and conference finals finish. It doesn’t have the talent, the discipline or the offensive versatility to be a champion.

 

We need boards and we need to hit shots or there is no chance. Put nene back in.

 

Turnovers/Giving up too many offensive rebounds = loss.

 

Paul is garbage, green is garbage, capela is garbage

 

Bad shooting half means we have a decent chance of good shooting at second half. They should not losing confidence shooting 3s.

 

2nd half adjustments:

Get more Rebounds, make more shots

Nothing complicated here
