ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 5/6/2019 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 4)

My buddy sent me a ticket at 615pm. So glad I decided to go.

 

Maybe he’s ready to get his best friend back and come play with a real mvp?

He def sounds like a guy who def wants to win another ring this year but is comfortable with what he’s accomplished in GS and is ready to leave.

But seriously we’d love to have you KD even tho we all have talked a lot of crap the past 3 years.

 

He and Harden are besties, so that's not really out of the norm .

 

Beat the **** out of them bring a win home.

 

Acting like you're a walking bad luck charm. Just stop!

 

Who was he rooting for?

 

Where did he get that Rockets got every call? Rofls. Was it when GSW got 3 straight foul calls in the 3rd and were in the bonus with 7min left? Was it when Harden was knocked in the head, Paul pushed to the ground, or when refs gave GSW the ball twice on out of bounds plays that were Rockets ball? F that, Houston shot badly to end the game, but we were called for more fouls, shot 1 more FT (because they had to foul us), and were in no way favored by the officials.

My bad for saying that the refs were fair, nba refs are awful and they will always be, like how KD was able to get away with that dirty shot at CP. I just wanted to say that they weren't as one-sided as those in Game 1, and now that the series is getting closer to the end I think the refs may go back to their one-sided officiating again.

I think I know why the Rockets are all too stuck in their ways....

I’d prefer him say nothing to be honest.

 

Watching Kenny Smith talk it seems like he's interviewing for a head coaching position on TV. I don't mean that in a complimentary way though.

 

Bump! This is very important.

I know everyone is high off the win but we can’t overlook this. We were up 101-86 with 9:12 left.

We proceeded to go 0/10 from 3 since that point and Curry had brought the game to 110-108 with 19 secs left.

As cold as we went we still kept attacking, got second chance opportunities from offensive boards and luckily they missed a lot as well.

This is who we are in a nutshell though... we build big leads off 3’s and we let teams back in/blow games when we go cold. To make matters worse when we go cold we almost always stop attacking and defending. Today was different.

We’re not gonna stop shooting from deep no matter how many we miss so we just gotta remember to mix it up by attacking the rim and be relentless on defense.

Final thoughts... I wished Harden would use his post game more. I’ve seen him use some nice post moves and put some good defenders thru the ringer here and there throughout his career but it’s not a big enough part of his repertoire IMO. He’s a load to guard in the post since he can backdown pretty much anyone but he’s good enough to dribble away before the double comes/find the open man.

Today’s game was a prime opportunity to use him there in the 4th quarter. Went ice cold from 3, why not slow the game down, eat up the clock, get a high percentage shot and or get them in foul trouble. Especially since we went small with no Capela clogging up the paint and Tucker’s natural habitat is spotting up from either corner anyways. Different era/different game but one constant is that a consistent back to the basket game would do Harden wonders. Jordan, Kobe, Wade... all slayed once they mastered it.
