I think some of this can be addressed if Harden just moves earlier in the clock. I get he likes to milk the shot clock, but it makes little sense when we are playing mid quarter and its resulting in the stagnation of other players. Plus, when he starts at 4 or 5 seconds left in the clock and gets double teamed, the entire possession ends up out of sorts, and he doesnt move quick enough on the picks to take advantage of the matchup he wants (Curry can recover back because Harden isnt moving fast enough off the screens). PJ played amazing late, but I am still waiting for him to have one of those games where he can contribute 4-5 three pointers, and although CP3 played well, he has a lot more on offensive that he can bring to the table. Great win, will have to get another one here in two days for this to be a series (3-1 vs. GSW is a death knell and they know it)
Durant has shot 14-37 on twos (TWOS) in the last 2 games. 37.8% If you don't count that BS leg kick foul on Rivers, Durant and Harden still have the same points on same FGAs, with Durant a few more FTs...for all 3 games, with Harden flat out more efficient in last two. No matter how you slice...Durant should probably be shooting more 3s like Harden does, than that high-degree of difficulty 2s that he's missing at a VERY HIGH CLIP.
You must of have not watched Harden or know about him making the finals with Westbrick and Durant. Also, who else from the west have been past the Worriers?
No he didn’t. Gordon was red hot. PJ lost 30 lbs of sweat tonight. Capela had some big time plays. Austin Rivers contributed nicely. Quite the contrary....that was a team win. Things get magnified sure but the Rockets won. Right now, whatever it is anyone needs to fix...it was just a bit better than what GSW did. We won. 2-1 series, I’ll take 3 more wins in a row exactly like this
no offense to Gordon, but I don't want him running any sets, he just can't dribble more than twice without losing control and it's usually a turnover. I only want Gordon to iso when Curry is on him
this was literally one of the dumbest game rockets played ever. they should've took the game away halfway into the 4th. instead warriors come back and the mid range champ chris paul goes for a drive against a much taller klay instead of a jumper, making it go to overtime? this was a very stupid ****in game.
Why bring up other players everytime someone points out something about Harden. I don't think Iso Durant strategy is all that great to begin with, they tried that last year against us and we ended up 3-2. The point is Harden milks the clock too much for no good reason, and most of the time in the fourth it ended up being a bad shot/turnover. I would argue he would get the same quality of shot if he went at it at 15 seconds instead of 5 seconds on the clock. I mean what exactly is the difference, he's going to do a step back, or straight line drive.
I'm not bringing up other players. I'm bringing up KEVIN DURANT. Harden's method works. Y'all just don't think it's pretty. That's all.
Actually the hero was Eric Gordon for stepping up above and beyond Harden played like a MVP but without Gordon today It would be over
People predicting the role players playing better at home, it isn't the truth. Stars might play better at home.
Agreed! Against a team like the Warriors if we are not striving for perfection every time then we will not beat them. James Harden did not single handedly win the game for us. PJ Tucker was instrumental and Eric Gordon was F'n Fantastic shooting 3's from every corner. I'm still hoping Nene can reach deep down and find a little fountain of youth to give us one last strong push... watching Clint out there makes me really depressed they spent 80-90 mil on him.
The fact that all players played well and we got surprising contributions from unexpected places and we still barely won concerns me. We can’t rely on everyone to play well every game and for shumpert to shoot better than 50% from the field for 3 more games. This is not even factoring in that curry and Thompson have shot a pedestrian percentage so far and either one of the two breaking out(very likely at least one will) means we have no more gears to crank to get to the next level.
I agree somewhat... there is however one more gear that I have yet to see step up and that is Chris Paul. If Eric Gordon Cp3 and Austin Rivers show up next game we will have a series.
Watching Harden repeatedly take 8 seconds to get the ball over halfcourt, dribble another 10 seconds five feet or further out from the three point line and then with six seconds left finally attempt something offensively makes me want to break things. I find it really frustrating.
Our only chance is the fact they don’t have a bench. If it goes 2-2 we can really beat them they can’t play their best players 40+ mins every night. And we need to find a way of not getting Tucker into foul trouble so early cause we saw what Durant can do in just a few mins. PJ is the only player who has enough of intensity and physicality to disrupt his rhythm. Harden is the second best defender on him and maybe we should try starting the game with him on KD. We can wear them out and win this series they have too many unplayable players against us. Let’s just hope Iggy can start bricking these 3s. And keep attacking the basket especially James and EG.
