Yeah, but Kanter has a hit out on him by the Turkish gov't. He won't be around long so it's a moot point. LOL
What is your point? Kanter is a faster center and Nene is not? The speed/quickness/agility of a center is relative to the scheme they play in. Im not arguing that Nene is going to Beat Kanter on a sprint, Im arguing thar neither can switch as much as our scheme needs its center to do. But hey, lets keep talking about hypotheticals at this time.
Smart guys here doing bold statements before series are even over. I see some Gasol arguments here, really smart after Game 1 of the TOR-Philly series. Not looking that smart today right?
You can't play Kanter...against the Warriors. Kanter has had two good matchups for him--a shooting-allergic Thunder team and a Nuggets team that has their own ponderous big man. He's still not great in the pick-and-roll, but at least his primary assignment isn't playing in space. Who on Earth is Kanter going to guard on the Warriors? They're not playing Bogut, Cousins is gone and even Looney has seen his minutes chopped. Kanter is solid offensively, but not so good that he's going to destroy the Warriors' defense from the post--he's the kind of okay-but-not-amazing big that Green can handle even with a size deficit. Kanter has value in some match-ups, but this match-up is the one we care about and the only one that matters, really. Kanter wouldn't have helped in this match-up, with the Warriors.
Yawn ... talking tha mess. Green and Iguodala can't shoot, guard them. When they lay picks and switch, survive the same way Capela does. Capela's instincts are better around the rim but as a defender in out of the paint situations, he isn't giving you same kind of shutdown ability or demonstrates being head and shoulders above Kanter. This was a guy to be had for nothing who could provide a lot on offense when the three's aren't dropping. Of course they fell today , Warriors missed a ton of easy shots, so all is well and Morey is ag enius. But if they don't come out of this series, there is no excuse for not opening up 1 roster spot for the guy instead of the same ol failed below average SF experiment.
