Warriors cut the connection with of harden and caplea. This way is to reduce the field goal percentage. MDA needs to think about how to pass the ball to caplea.
There’s a lot of people with ideas about how to beat the Warriors but fact of the matter is that the only ones that have come close are the Rockets and arguably would have with Paul healthy. I’m not all that interested in opinions from assholes who really have no clue.
Yeah getting to WCF is a nice participation trophy but I want harden to get some hardware tho and I’m not talking about a mvp trophy.0
I just can't get over this statement right here. All of these people telling the Rockets to play more like other teams that the Warriors curb stomp instead of like themselves when they almost beat the Warriors playing this way.
The weakness of dealth lineup is that there is no center. Houston can ask Gordon or harden hold the ball to make shoots close to the rim. Caplea can protect the rim to get the rebounds. At least capela can do something on that.
last night harden took only layups and 3s in the clutch and got blocked and airballed and lost the game... yanis knocked out a midrange and got the win sometimes you got to take what defenses are giving you...always looking for efficiency is penny pinching ....if harden just fired a floater he wouldn't have been blocked.... also if you are injured like harden, AND YOU ARE TIRED BECAUSE ITS THE END OF THE GAME, AND YOU ARE IN DECLINE AND FAT, it easier for you to shoot midrange and you are more precise then firing a long ball....
Demar Derozan's ELITE midrange has the Bulls losing to every damn +.500 team in the NBA. He simply can't close consistently against good competition, nor in the playoffs.
there are circumstances.. ..dumbalytics imagine 35% from 3 MUST EQUAL 50% from 2 in all circumstances
People don’t understand, they are going to deny you an option in the playoffs. For Derozan, they will just sag off him. When it’s predictably your preferred shot, you’re so easy to guard. Jordan and Kobe taught us that it’s more like a sniper rifle than a machine gun. Green doesn’t have that issue, he’s great from 3pt land so his midrange is used to torch teams who create a mini wall at the basket.
Really what people should be saying... "It's ok to take WIDE OPEN midrange shots" or at least ones you can make > 50% of the time.
Over the course of an 82 game season and large sample size, you want to minimize the most inefficient shots. Most of the time for most players that's the midrange. If you're an elite level player and shot creater, it's critical to be able to score from all areas of the floor, especially when you need a bucket and want the highest percentage shot on one possession, against defenses that are geared towards guarding the 3pt line and the rim. This is when midrange should be taken advantage of in certain situations.
No, it's definitely easy to calculate the value of a wide open jumper. Unless you're a moron, of course.
Midrange is better in the clutch and it's not complicated to see why. Analytics support this, it's been talked about at the Sloan conference numerous times. If you're down by 1 with 3 seconds left would you rather have a 35% 3 pointer or a 41% 2 pointer? Once you can understand this concept it's not hard to see why the same principle applies in many situations where midrange jumpers are better than 3s in late game situations. This is why players who shoot midrange are so valuable in close games, and also why championship teams always have these players - you don't win championships without winning close games.
They shot as many 3s in the league as anyone, the last 5 years the lowest they’ve been is 9th in the league in 3PA.
