    Sigh.

You believe what you want to believe.

I only do this for a living and have had to deal with this exact issue.

All the laws are passed and on the books if you choose to look them up.

I have wasted enough time on this, with someone that really doesn't know what they are talking about.

you need to refrain from being intellectually dishonest. Here are the facts:
    • An urban center in Calif that confronts the homeless problem head on, alloting funds to help the homeless, SF
      • SF is ~ 54% liberal and 46% conservative
    • An urban center in Calif that pretends that it does not have a homeless problem, hardly spending any funds on it, LA/OC
      • LA/OC is ~ 48% liberal and 52% conservative

The majority of those homeless people served the country in the military -- what do you have against our struggling veterans?

    Moronic article.

Homelessness is not a problem unique to SF and plagues most big cities

So why hasn't wall street solved NYCs homelessness problem?

NY has more than 5x the number of homeless than Seattle. There's no way that's true

If that's a real question, then it's a simple one. By not actively encouraging more homeless people. and, if indeed a real question, it clearly shows the disconnect between compassion and reality that permeates most liberal social policy. You don't solve any social problem by encouraging more of it. Sure, such policies 'feel good'...but lots of things feel good yet have bad consequences. Essentially the same as advocating everyone should eat desert all day. Desert tastes really good! But eating it all the time has bad consequences. Feel good policies, by definition, are bad policies. If they were actually good policies, they wouldn't be 'feel good' based. Is there any evidence that San Francisco's policies actually help solve the homeless problem? No. Is there lots of evidence they make it worse? Yes. Does that make you feel good still?

Would you say it has to do with the influx of wealthy liberal people and privileged millenials pushing out these measures for affordable housing? Or moreso the tech corporations who own the politicians? Which segment is actually stopping the political progress..

Is there even major cities that lean right? They’re all living in the boonies. The homeless don’t want to go to Vidor.

    Vidor, LOL. Nice one.

I have a friend in SLC and she's always bragging about how they took care of their homeless problem by housing and feeding the homeless. And I'm like, "oh really? you were able to help both of them?" SLC has brutal, brutal winters. But anyway, it's a decent-sized city and they really don't have much of a homeless problem. But it's really not like they had a revolutionary approach.

Is homelessness a "problem" because homeless people don't have a home or is it a "problem"' because homeless people are yucky and gross and they touch my Mercedes when I have to drive past them on my way to work?

A lot of "successful" approaches seem to be about pushing the homeless out of sight or shuffling them elsewhere.

    Wait what?

Isn't that more of a capitalism problem than progressive problem?

Said it all along, wealthy areas need to designated living areas for public servants with rent caps. And an ability to buy at a national price instead of local (in these areas) for long term employees.

Public schools are the reason why housing is unaffordable and there's a homeless problem in SF?

Exactly. It’s time to enforce the rules: kick the illegals out and keep them out. Rents will go down.
