The eye test says you're wrong. That same stat says Harden has been our best defender. It passes the eye test. That same stat says House has been our worst defender. That passes the eye test too. Just have to face facts, Tucker has been getting eaten alive this series. He needs to fix it.
is their a link to back this up with actual context. there's a lot of details missing here that actually matters
don't really see much of a need to knee jerk. I don't think asking your bench players to find a way to stay on the floor is demanding much to even be considered a knee jerk.
Oooooooh, so now we are using the eye test now. Your eye test doesnt tell me anything. PJ is literally our best defender, you think these guys are all going one on one against PJ , thats ridiculous, dude you are just posting posting stats without context and then when I tell you its without context you come with "eye test"....cmon now.
That very same stat showed PJ was our best defender in the regular season. It showed he was elite. It passed the eye test then, too. He just needs to step it up and get back to being that dog in this series. He showed in the 4 regular season games against GSW that he is built for it. He just needs to show it now.
thanks. im interested to see how this compares to other primary defenders for kd. ill shuffle around later
ESPN showed Warriors defense efficiency with CC on and w/o CC. It's embarrassing.\ Lot of these TOs were passes to him. Perhaps w/o him, it would actually calm down things. You would think w/o Boogie, he should be dominating inside like he did against them in the regular season. Wonder if the virus thing has to do with his poor performance thus far in the playoffs.
In all honesty, PJ is definitely the best suited to take KD on defense. He proved it during the regular season. He just needs to step up now. Our best defenders against KD in my opinion are 1. Tucker 2. Rivers 3. Harden In that order.
Thats not how any of this works man, you are not taking into account X and O's at all, this is ridiculous. You are just using a stat without context and saying "eye test" thats the opposite of how to use stats.
It is if you put them all out there together at the same time, or stagger them inappropriately. I don't have the rotation answers, exactly. I'm also not getting paid millions of dollars. I'd probably like to see Faried come in earlier
Eric and James are not connected anyways when both on offensively. If Eric just needs to be stand still shooter, House IMO can do that adequately plus an athletic body to check AI's.
It may seem opposite to a novice. I take into account help defense, scheme, and switching when im watching. PJ needs to step it up just like everyone else. Period. If you don't believe me, put some money up. If PJ gets his defensive shooting % back down to 45%, I guarantee a win.
Just cut the TOs and grab the board, we will be fine. We were playing like chickens worrying too much about KD/Steph/Klay. AS I SAID, LET THEIR BIG THREE GET THEIRS, IT'S AIS AND GREENS WE NEED TO LIMIT.
I've not liked EG as a starter this year, last year or the year before. I still think inserting him into the starting lineup against the Spurs in the playoffs was asinine. Moreso because MDA did that as a result of Nene getting hurt - like wtf? EG off the bench works better for various reasons - increased bench productivity, better staggering of lineups, EG spends more time against worst opponents. As is, you have 3 guys that do much the same thing. But this change just isn't happening. MDA doesn't trust but 6 players on this team - the starters plus Rivers. After that, he's just guessing. I give him some benefit of the doubt, because as @YOLO implies, if the guys are sucking, they're sucking. But part of the coaches job is to recognize player strengths and weaknesses and therefore lineup strengths and weaknesses - both your own, and your opponents. Instead, I get the STRONG impression that MDA's focus over the next few days will just be on ballhandling and rebounding. And sure, you want to hammer that home. But he should be spending multiple hours a day thinking about lineups, testing out lineups, thinking about GSW lineups, etc. For a team so invested in analytics, you'd think there'd be ton of modelling available to test some of this out in theory.
Show me, give me a breakdown, if you arent a novice. Show me how PJ isnt "stepping up", go on, show me your Xs and Os knowledge. Why would I put money up, obviously if the warriors are shooting considerably worse with that stat you posted, than in a close game of course we win.
