Our starting lineup has a net rating of -27.6 thru the 2 games vs GSW. That is absolutely horrible. They are getting blown out every step of the way. Our most successful lineups vs warriors in these 2 postseason games... Paul, Harden, EG, House, Tucker Net Rating: +38.2 If you go small, stick to this lineup Paul, Tucker, EG, Rivers, Capela Net Rating: +57.1 When Harden rests, stick to this lineup. Harden, Shump, House, Tucker, Nene Net Rating: +94.4 When Paul rests, stick to this lineup. We have not seen a lineup so far in the postseason with Faried at the 4 and Capela at the 5. But, during the regular season vs GSW, this was one of our most successful tactics. They played 28 minutes together, had a net rating of +28.1, and won the rebounding battle. This duo needs to be featured ALOT.
They can start Nene for Tucker and script first five plays for capaela to bring Tucker immediately after first two or three more minutes. The goal being keep Draymond off the board early. Once they bring back Tucker, script some plays for PJ Tucker and then bring House for the weakest link.
MDA has gone away from what worked in the regular season, like not playing Faried enough and then adding salt to the wound by experimenting with Shumpert. I’ve seen no resemblance of the Rockets team that beat GS 3-1. He needs to get it together, and soon.
Yeah, the Faried Capela combo might work with the regular season dominant Capela, but not this version. And Tucker would then need to be at the 3, which would put Gordon as a 6th man again and that's just not going to happen. Tucker off the bench even less so, so rather Capela is replaced as a starter with a Tucker - Faried / Nene combo.
The concern is even if your initial defense is good you have to rebound the miss to start your possession offensively
Everyone is going to assume the Clippers won 2 games because the Warriors didn't care. Sorry, that's just wrong. The Clippers went small ball and they lit up the Warriors defense after they lost Cousins. The key was permabenching Zubac and going small with Harrell at the 5. Doc Rivers figured this out by the beginning of Game 2. We're at Game 3 and we're still not sure if D'Antoni has figured out that small ball with Tucker and Faried at the 5 is our best way to win.
lol they are not the better team .. they lost the last year(and the refs still handed them the trophy) and have game 1 handed to them by the refs and the entire world admitted it and youre calling them a better team...lol
he apparently figured it out by game 2 and was rewarded with two immediate losses on their home floor. cool. makes sense
Faried.Will.Get.Killed. You guys seem him in a for a couple of possessions and think "Oh hey look hes doing well" when thats not how it works at all. There is a reason hes not playing.
If it ain’t working Just Play Faried. Faried is the newSwiss Army knife for many of y’all. D’Antoni really tried playing him, but he kept get blown by and not boxing out and losing his assignment. It’s hard.
let see if hes gonna get killed even harden is not able to continuously abuse questionable defenders sure he will got killed on few possession but perhaps we will get more compensation in other areas he brings THE ENERGY that can unlock something wonderfull and send waves throughout the team
i think he was plus in box score and you need to get more than 5 minutes in order to adapt and feel the game
Kevin Durant happened. Nothing the Clippers could do about that. They can at least say they lost playing the right guys. That is not the case with the Rockets.
oh we lost playing the right guys. that sounds much better. where is that on the WL column? is there an award for that?
Literally any option is better than throwing Capela out there against the Warriors' death lineup. How hard is this concept to grasp? We played Faried for a little bit and did not get killed. Smart coaches would try those lineups a little longer instead of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole over and over again.
So you see no value in ensuring you're playing your best lineups? The Clippers didn't have the talent for that to matter in a 7 game series but Houston has the personnel to actually win a series, but are playing the wrong players for too long. You, apparently are okay with this though.
Golden State is a way better team than us lmao. You're in serious denial if you think other-wise. We had the personal to beat them last year with Ariza and LMAM. They have better shooters, more length, and then KD and Harden cancel each other out. Last year was our year and we blew it.
