At least robots won't get some nasty hair in your omelette -- amiright? I was talking with my fave barista at a local Peet's coffee and asking her about this "order with the app!" thing now. People literally order a coffee, via their freaking phone, and then show up expecting it to be waiting for them. I asked her if she noticed a difference in these people are the more normal customers. "Oh yeah. They're pretty much, well..." "Assholes?" I suggested. "Yes. You said it. I didn't. But they don't want to interact with humans unless they're complaining."
It's pretty wild how social interactions have changed. Nobody talks to anyone anymore anyway. People either 1. Have headphones in or 2. are concentrated on their phone. Trying to make conversation with a stranger makes you seem like a serial killer.
Awesome. I'm far from a germaphobe but that is just ridiculously unsanitary. Just depends on where you live.
Automation is going to happen regardless. If it happens 1 year sooner or whatever, that doesn't really change the trajectory of anything.
