Should be a great game with JV taking the mound looking for sole possession of first place Go Astros!
Lets all pray for no rainout tomorrow...that would certainly screw this crazy roadtrip right up. Forecast doesn't look too bad at this point, just light rain in the PM. And no injuries because of the wet field and cold weather and general lack of roof. eta: and it's supposed to rain all weekend in Monterrey. Something tells me they don't have a roof either.
The Astros have played by far the hardest schedule in the American League up to this point. If they can get through this series, then the month of May looks very favorable for the Astros.
Just for fun, since it's too early for serious standings watching... AL teams >.500 Vs. teams currently over .500 (and vs the others): Yankees: 0-3 (17-8) Seattle: 2-10 (16-3) Oakland: 5-13 (9-3) Minny: 6-9 (10-0) Astros: 13-10 (4-1) Texas: 9-6 (5-7) Cleveland: 10-4 (5-8) Tampa 5-2 (13-7)
Is that new this year (paging @bobrek)? I dig the dark blue, dark red with gold trim now that you mention it. I've liked the Twins since their glory days back in the late 80's. They the Blue Jays and the A's could be good for a while and it would be a-ok with me.
2nd time through the order for Odorizzi: 3-up 3-down on 7 pitches to Altuve/Bregs/Brantley eta: and their .161 hitting 8-hitter (slg%? .161) drills a BP fastball from Verlander for a...wait for it...solo HR
Odorizzi liked that last inning so much that he decided to go 1-2-3 on 7 pitches again 8 pitches in the 4th.
