I love Clint and appreciate how hard he's worked on his development over the years. He's great in our system and definitely has good chemistry with Harden, but I just wonder if he already is what he's going to be. Will he develop a jump shot so he can be effective even when the opponent is shutting down those lobs? He's improved his stamina and free throw shooting over the years and now I want him to work on his toughness. I don't even know how you improve toughness If you're not born with it, but he's still a little timid to me. Will Clint remain our 5 throughout the Harden era or will Morey have to upgrade? Just wondering what you guy's think?
He looks more like he's hitting a blunt , and then hitting a brick wall . Clint has had a minor down year this year (in terms of regular season) but he's just not been close to the guy he was in last year's playoffs . Hopefully he wakes up because we really need him
Clint is 24. Big men usually reach their true prime at 27-28. Capela will get better as well, his basketball IQ will improve too. That being said, I don't think he'll ever be worth a max contract.
This is the difference between harden and francis. Steve Francis was doing all type of shiet but the coach forced him to get yao ming involved. Let's face it, harden is a ball hog!
I feel like he can get a lot better on the defensive end. Maybe he can compete with Gobert in being the DPOY. Idk we shall see. Definitely think there's more growth just dont not sure how much.
He plays a like a sissy. Tries to do alot of cute ish instead of being a monster like he is capable of doing. Just wishing he grows a pair and learns from D.Jordan. Because he is capable of playing like that around the rim. Just doesnt most of the time.
someone here ( @AuburnRocket ?) had an appropriate nickname for him in the previous series... Clit Capela
I can’t agree. Was he a ball hog when he won 6th Man of the Year with OKC? (To be honest, I didn’t see a lot of their games, except for when they played us!)
Does Clint box out on rebounds? I can't recall seeing him box out on rebounds. He seems to try to use what height he has (usually less than the other guy) and cherry pick the ball out of the fracas. I could be wrong. I try to keep on eye on him in games, but I certainly can miss things. PJ and Faried box out when they can. I'm just saying, yeah, he's smaller and wispier than your average center, but he also isn't exactly compensating for it with solid fundamentals. I keep harping on this, because that's literally his number one job: to get rebounds. And the fewer other skills he has (shooting, handles, playmaking, etc.), the more his duty on the court shifts to getting rebounds. He got 6 rebounds in Game 1. We'll see with Clint, but I'm starting to like the idea of DeAndre the Hometown Hulk more and more if we could ever get him.
Sometimes...... there are just bad match ups. Sometimes.... the opposing defense scheme to take away certain actions (PNR) Sometimes..... people forget how good the Warriors' defense has been during this era. Clint needs to step up more no doubt. I think Capela is great for what we do and lets see how he responds in game 2.
I'm not sure where this imaginary center who can space the floor, protect them rim, rebound, and switch out onto the perimeter is going to come from.... especially with our cap and draft pick situation. Clint is more than likely going to be our center with Harden and CP3.
