ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 4/28/2019 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 1)

Man, can Harden have a game like Kahwi, KD, Lilliard at some point? Sick of seeing guys go off and even just making it look easy when Harden has to work so hard for every shot. That's partly on him, the team and the philosophy. The other part was the Jazz defense, but that shouldn't stop a guy like Harden, but MDA unfortunately has no counter move to that forcing right / playing from behind / side defense. Let's see what he does tonight!

 

We will see what happens today. I will give him a pass against that tough UTAH defense granted he got a triple double in game 2.

 

I feel this will be a series of redemption.

 

Beating the Warriors is easier said than done. However, the same can be said about the Rockets. This is really all about Harden. Will he show up big or suffer from "shrinkage?" And, do the Rockets have a bench or not? The loss of Thompson for even one game (and likely more) is a huge loss for GS. Curry is not 100% either; however, Iggy is a Harden "killer," and that is a problem. Series is a toss-up.

 

Maybe he's just not that skilled. Without a reliable mid range jumper it's very hard to get by this defense.

 

Who are the ZEBRAS for today?

 

wonder if MDA will situationally deploy shump to guard curry or Thompson. Something to watch for. Something tells me shumpert will play. Probably why morey got him here in the first place . Hopefully she can use all that playoff experience and muster up that gusto one more time.

All call fouls for Harden. Especially Courtney Kirkland.

Zach threw KD out of a game this year as well.

Harden probably gets more attention from opposing coaches than any other player in the league, because of the scoring potency. I don’t expect him to hit his season averages under the pressure he is facing. As long as he can remain somewhat efficient, hit the open guys, and compete on defense, I’m good with his performance.

 

Pre-game music: if it were up to me I’d have Training Montage playing on the Rockets’ bus to the arena and War playing in their headphones as they’re walking in.

 

Austin Rivers would make a decent Doc Strange, with his Pop being Doc Rivers.
