Should Harden take a mid-range shot if dared to or left open? Not talking about a floater.

The funny thing is stepback three is a much more difficult shot than wide open midrange. Even if Harden isn't good at it right now, just practice it, that's all it takes. Then no more doggystyle defense.

I think he should brick a floater instead

They have zero say on what Harden should shoot. Harden plays however he wants to play, MDA has no leash on him it's pretty clear

The "shoot more midrange just because we aren't hitting 3's" meme on this website is tiresome, but yes...if Harden is literally wide open at the foul line, that is better than just running straight into Rudy Gobert. And like...he doesn't even need to do it every time. Just do it a few times so he is not able to be schemed.

Lol so you give harden sole credit for eliminating the jazz 4-1?

You are wrong bro. How do you stop mid drive and shoot a mid range with someone standing/guarding right behind you?

Apparently this is hard for some people to see. and this somehow is a much better decision than a harden floater, lob to capela, or kickout for wide open 3

If open, yes, of course. If "dared to" means pulling up with a defender behind him after a drive from the perimeter, then no.

It's misleading to say when he is "dared to" or "left open". He's not being waved off like Ben Simmons at the 3point line.

When was he actually left open to shoot those with someone on his shooting side and Gobert ready to step forward and contest.

Small sample size but where is he actually dared to shoot a midrange in this gimmick defense? Rudy Gobert is a giant defensively.

wow, so doggystyle defense stops three pointers and midrange at the same time? literally the best defensive scheme of all time. maybe every team should use it against any player who goes ISO mode, and yet never happens, except against Harden. I wonder why.

Seriously I am literally dumbfounded by all the posts claiming all he had to do is pull up for a wide open midrange shot.

That **** was not available the way they were playing him.

The only teams to “successfully” do it have been the elite of the elite defenses. I think the Bucks are likely the only team left who can try it.

And again if you want to consider the Jazz losing 1-4 as a successful execution of a defensive game plan be my guest.
