Think it's a good idea. It's exactly what both he and the Cougars need. But once he gets that information, he should sit down with someone like Harden and learn how to execute it. He needs one on one skills. But just opening up those conversations, should they occur, will be fruitful. Most important to me is just developing that one on one skill set all summer long before the season starts. It can be done in one summer. Because if he has that, he's a two way force to be reckoned with. He's the type of player who avoids contact, so not only does he need to learn how to drive and go one on one, but how to initiate and seek contact. Get to the line. And then I think the FT % will increase with increased time at the line.
No doubt. As long as you don't do anything stupid like stop going to class or start toking up, there's no downside to letting the NBA guys give you a once-over and tell you where you stand.
Sampson said he wished Jarrau would have done it too to show what he needs to work on to get to the next level.
Coogs got a commit today from 3 star combo guard Traman Mark from Dickinson. He's currently the 12th ranked player in Texas for the class of 2020.
I like Tramon Mark a lot. Lefty combo guard with good size. Can get to the basket and also kick out to open players.
anxiously waiting for a significant big man recruit. UH is already talented at the guard/wing positions
One of the asst coaches tweeted some big news coming soon. I am not sure if that is a recruit committing or maybe some future scheduling news, but I did read we have 2 transfers visiting this weekend.
still waiting on a significant big man. there's gotta be atleast one out there looking to join this program on the rise
I haven't heard of one. The player that they are close to getting played some 5 last year but is really a 3-4
oh boy. hopefully harris, fabian, and gresham make some significant strides. Especially harris being houston's biggest player
They are going to need to lean a lot on their guards and forwards. There are bright spots, the signings are solid and Sampson is doing very well on the transfers. The biggest bright spot that the coaching staff is purposely not saying much about is the supposed development of Caleb Mills. Although he will be new to college basketball, they think he could be their best player. If Jaedon Ledee ends up at UH (He is for sure leaving OhSt), he will be a big piece long term. Ledee has been visited by UH people recently.
Well if Sampson and family love Smith then it would be nice to see that size added to the roster. Thanks as always Nook.
Just moved to Houston and am excited to hit up some Houston basketball games next season. I know it's early but has there been any schedule leaks or anything yet? I know there is the new alliance with the SEC. Hopefully Coogs draw a fun match up to bring to the city.
