Dany was staring into the flames when Jorah walked in her room. Something is up with her and the lord of light.
theme song from last night... DRINK BEFORE THE WAR Somebody cut out your eyes You refuse to see Somebody cut out your heart You refuse to feel And you live in a shell You create your own hell You live in the past And talk about war And you dig your own grave yeah But it's a life you can save So stop getting fast It's not gonna happen And you'll cry But you'll never fall No, no, no You're building a wall Gotta break it down Start again No, no, no It won't happen to us We've lived our lives Basically we've been good men So stop talking of war Cause you know we've heard it all before Why don't you go out there And do something useful Oh listen to the man in the liquor store He yelling "anybody want to drink before the war?" "Anybody want to drink before the war?" "Anybody want to drink before the war?"
Rewatched a few scenes today. Man this was a rough episode. Necessary I guess but rough. I feel like it’s going to age as one of the better episodes in TV history from an impact standpoint. We’ve been with these characters for 9-10 years now. The way they gave us a final glimpse of them all...just a tough pill to swallow.
One thing that doesn't sit well with me is the strategy session. Others have brought up, for example, the membership of it (Theon? LOL). But the strategy itself, unless I'm missing something, is about at the level of primary schoolers playing capture the flag. Seriously? You have hordes of dothraki and the unsullied and they're going to... what exactly? maybe I missed it. It's all about Bran as bait over here and trying to protect the wall over this-a-way, and the dragons hanging out... not too close... but not too far. It feels like McHale trying to gameplan against Red Auerbach or something.
I'm hoping the viewer was kept at a distance on this front on purpose. Perhaps they have some tricks up their sleeve that we are meant to be as surprised by as the Night King? I hope so.
They have the best eyes in the world to see the Dead from that distance They did not seem to have any scouts. Set no real traps further out. Their plan seems to be to hunker down and wait until winter is over and winter lasts at least a year or two Rocket River
Actually you have to carry the flag around to a point. This is where it deviates from the game. The moment Night King sees Bran he is probably going to kill the Flag person. And there lies the strategy when the Night King is trying to make his kill, the Living should attack him and kill him first. Capturing him won't be enough, they got to kill him.
He's Robert Baratheon's eldest (b*stard) son. So yeah, he has a claim (as much as a b*stard can anyway). I think at this point even a team of lawyers couldn't figure out a proper line of succession for Westeros.
